If Stoke showed us one thing on Saturday it’s that Terry and co don’t like playing against a striker that is going to put himself about.
Sammon is unlikely to give Terry a moment’s peace on Saturday and I would start him instead of Hugo on Saturday.
We are not expected to get anything out of the game so we have nothing to lose.
In fact i would go a bit further and say that Bobby should consider playing Moses just behind Sammon with Cleverley and Charlie on the wings.
I though Moses was lively on Saturday and I think he could be more of a threat playing more centrally.

I was thinking this before. However i dont see martinez dropping hot rod, so if sammon did start, i think we would see moses drop to the bench and hugo on the wing :/
How on earth could he consider dropping Moses? He was the only player who looked like making things happen in the first half on Saturday.
He has pace and trickery and, although it didn’t happen on Saturday, is the type of player who could nick us a pen.
We could very well have the answers to our goalscoring problems, we just may not have tried out the right combination.
For example, Hugo is not clinical enough to play the lone striker’s role so why don’t we take him out of the firing line and try someone else in his place to see if that key can unlock the door.
To be fair to Martinez, although he is pretty rigid with his 4-5-1, he has tried to make our formation fluid with the three players behind the striker swapping positions throughout games. The only thing that hasn’t changed is Rodders playing as the preffered main striker. One small change to the team could make all the difference and at least we know that at least Sammon will bust his gut right until the last kick of the season.
I’m not saying its right i just couldn’t see martinez dropping hot rod, he has underperformed most of the season and hasn’t been dropped and i dont see it happening now. I would rather see sammon there instead of rodallega, I just don’t think it would happen unless he got injured
just a thought, but what about rodellega behind salmon, with one of moses, charlie & cleverley on the wings. the one missing out would be a good sub to bring on later on in the game.
I would like to see Cleverley play behind the striker and Charlie back out on the wing with Sammon up front. Gives us real pace on both wings and also someone who could unlock the defence in the middle
thats what i thought, why is charlie starting through the middle rather than cleverly? good to see them swapping round though throughout the game

DiSanto :doh: :doh: :doh: [/quote]We bought Sammon in January to bolster our attack and he has hardly played him !!! Rodders needs dropping to the subs bench and the lad sammon needs a start !
Why not play both Hugo and Connor and if we are to go down at least we can say in the last few games in the Premier League we had a right good go.
When your strikers are not scoring goals is it not ecpected that the midfield should stand up and be counted and bang a few in between them just a thought like
