Another pathetic piece of journalism, stating our town is a ‘rugby town’.
6 January 2010 at 7:57 pm #17350Just read this. To be fair though, he has got slated by just about everyone who has commented on the piece.
6 January 2010 at 7:59 pm #17351“Wigan v Hull in RL would have been a sell out”…..unless the shite could win the league, they could make that £2 a piece and they wouldnt fill the stadium. Does that muppet know how many paying speccies the egg-men really get on every week?
6 January 2010 at 8:05 pm #17353Yet another clueless w^nker offering nothing but the usual rubbish that they all spout.
C’mon martinh get your work colleagues educated before they write their lazy 5hit again. Have a word with this idiot.
6 January 2010 at 8:43 pm #17354I don’t know who Ken McKenzie is (6th Jan, 8:53am in the list of comments) but I want to have his babies.
Argument put perfectly, facts stated totally accurately, not one use of the word c***.
Gullad, owd lad – as we apparently say up ‘ere.
I suggest you all take a read and use this as your ammo whenever this kind of drivel is thrown at you in future.

It’s just another chance to have a pop at us. No doubt MOTD will find someway to fit it in on Saturday as well as 9-1 and the 5-0 against Utd. F*ck em.
Oh, and DW is from Bradford.

At first, I actually thought he was you Griff.
Didn’t think Ken McKenzie sounded like a real name.
6 January 2010 at 10:36 pm #17360…well, he was born in Bradford by chance due to his parents visiting Bradford as his dad was singing there…
…..his family are from Wigan and he has mostly lived in Wigan all his life….He is still a Wiganer..
….But as Griff says…don’t let hard facts get in the way of making stories on this board ;)
6 January 2010 at 11:29 pm #17364It could have been worse – at least Torquay v Brighton got a lower attendance.

Had i read the original article and had the time to reply before Ken did, I’d like to think I could have mustered a similarly eloquent and acerbic response. :|
Fair play to Ken, whoever you are. I’ve a sneaky feeling it might be Duke or JamesC. Not?
I know it’s not Arky – he never mentioned fishing once ;)
7 January 2010 at 12:06 am #17372i think it’s fair to say thats one journo who got a good shoeing there. And rightly so. Do their editors not occasionally check what turd these people write……….. no, obviously not. Wouldn’t you just love to bump into one of these prats in the brick or somewhere and “educate” them a little?

Wouldn’t you just love to bump into one of these friend in the brick or somewhere and “educate” them a little?I always fancied being a journalist, to be honest. If I thought you could get paid for writing any old sh*** and just chuck in big words where they aren’t really needed, I’d have changed career years ago.
7 January 2010 at 1:12 am #17386Articles like this, and the replies of all the anti Latics, makes me realise how much I want this PL crusade to continue.
Its not only about the football and the craic of matchday anymore, its about pi**ing off all these clowns. Long may it continue.‘LITTLE WIGAN, TAKING THE P*SS’

Exactly – why should we apologise or justify our presence in the Premier League? – we’ve earned it ……………….. be proud and exract the proverbial.
7 January 2010 at 11:54 am #17407Nice to see we are still winding up the establishment
