That was so close to snapping Gomez’ legs it isn’t funny. MOTD showed it a few times and it got worse every time I saw it….animal.
3 October 2010 at 3:03 am #47915very bad challenge that was, deserves more than a3 match ban, could of end his career.wreckless.
3 October 2010 at 3:03 am #47916Said it was harsh when I saw it live. Revised my opinion considerably after seeing it on TV. Shocker
3 October 2010 at 3:02 pm #47953Can’t think of many worse challenges. Graeme Souness on his debut for Rangers against Hibs (?) might just edge it out of the most horrendous spot.

4 October 2010 at 12:25 am #48007Fair enough. Keane has the title. Shocker. Should have been locked up for that.
4 October 2010 at 12:33 am #48009micky c, that tackle by keane still shocks me even to this day. has to be the worst tackle ever.
6 October 2010 at 6:14 pm #48242did anyone notice rodders waving an imaginary card at the referee.
i bet he had to sit down after spending all that energy
7 October 2010 at 1:30 am #48265Yeah I saw that from Hugo, hate that….think if you wave an imaginary card then a yellow one should be shown in your direction, regardless of what the ref is going to do
As for the worst tackle….Goixcochea on Maradona years ago and in 90’s Vinny Jones on Gary Stevens (I think….the Spurs one) are just 2 that spring to mind
7 October 2010 at 4:10 am #48267Said it was harsh when I saw it live. Revised my opinion considerably after seeing it on TV. ShockerI sit in the West Stand directly opposite where that incident happenend. It’s interesting to note that at the time both myself and everyone sat around me thought the straight red was a bit harsh.
It was only afterwards when I saw it on TV from a different angle did I think the challenge deserved a red card.
Who’d be a ref, eh?7 October 2010 at 3:32 pm #48274I sit in the West Stand directly opposite where that incident happenend. You must sit very close to us then, Sammy. In which case, it must be your turn to get the ale in at half time. :lol:

I sit just in front of the press box more or less looking down on the away team bench. Funny how it’s aways my turn to get the ale in….!15 October 2010 at 4:05 pm #48735You’re only a block and a half away from me Sammy. Looks like it could end up being a dear round. Bitter, never lager.
16 October 2010 at 4:00 am #48793This incident has been and gone, lots said and discussed etc and I had no intention of adding to the debate however;
I overheard a conversation between two Everton fans during the week, they were discussing the lower reaches of the current Premiership table and their current predicament. The conclusion that they finaly arrived at during the complementary cheese and buiscuits was that they would have been a place above Wigan had Carl Henry not commited THAT takle and got himself dismissed. Wolves would have beaten Wigan with 11 men!!!!!!
Well lets add them to list of persons subscribing to this theory: Mick McCarthy, Carl Henry, Adrian Durham, Andy Goldstein, Danny Kelly, Alvin Martin, Daz from Wolverhampton, that cockhead Burnley fan who used to read the sports news on N/W tonight, Harry Harris, *Brian (I hate Wigan) Read * Dave calling 606 to show his condemnation for the tackle but support for the Wolves, Jason Cundy, Stan Collymore, Stevie Bull, Derick Doogan, Noreen from Stowheath who was sure we would have won, Alan Brazil, Terry from Bilston who spent the last of his Giro traveling to Wigan in vain. They all ( I may have made one or two up) stated on national TV or radio that it was a given that Wolves would have won had Henry not been red carded !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now, and please forward this to the Wolves site for discussion, but Wovles were Barry Wight from start to finish in my opinion!!!!!! They were the worst team (apart from the Tics on occasions) that I have seen at the JJB/DW since we got promoted to the Premier league. Devoid of any creativity they came with one McCarthy induced game plan to bully their way to a point.
I have no problem with the way Wolves approached the game, that is up to them. However if I hear one more person (especialy Talk Sh1te) state that the only reason that a pathetic Wolves team lost the match was due to the fact that they were reduced to 10 men I will attempt to break their legs with a Kung Fu-esk slide tackle.
WIGAN WOULD HAVE WON ANYWAY WOLVES WERE DIRE
