Having read Roalwr’s comments today on the BBC Sport website, my concerns about this season are growing.
Saying we can’t compete with the buying power of teams who came down last season he goes on to cite Nottingham Forest as a case in point. Really Uwe ?
His response to our return of one point from nine has been both disrespectful to the opposition and wide of the mark in terms of accuracy.
We are second bottom for a reason and whilst we all have our views, the bottom line is that this is a results driven business and right now we are not cutting it.
Back to Uwe’s response to defeat he stated “we win together and we lose together and we don’t do blame.” Does he need reminding that Mr Whelan doesn’t feel the same.
20 August 2014 at 4:47 pm #132923We drew with a side tipped to make the playoffs
Lost in the last minute against a side who have started the season well and just beat the favourites for promotion
We then lost to a side better fancied than ourselves who have signed about 4000 strikers and have, on paper, a better squad than us.
Yes we have 1 point from a possible 9 but we also have 129 points left to play for. Stop pressing the old panic button. As others have said, judge us in September when the window is shut and things settle down.
Blackpool were top 5 last year for most of the opening 3 months and survived with 2 games to go as an example of how things change.

20 August 2014 at 8:37 pm #132930I think the real problem is in midfield. Rosler and Martinez have collected a bunch of midfielders who are basically the same. Ball winners pass it sideways and backwards. Apart form Maloney we have no creativity and no width. Whoever we play up front on their own is going to struggle with poor or no service. I wish Mcmanaman could play a full game
20 August 2014 at 10:28 pm #132936When Ronseal’er took over the only thing I saw different was the players working their sacks off chasing every last ball. To be truthful I didn’t see much difference tactically from the dark days of Coyle’s reign were ping pong took president.
The lack of signings and average players on top money is a recipe for the drop
Will I still go ????
I’ve no choice, I’m too old to stop

Oh dear
21 August 2014 at 12:29 am #132940Id say the ‘no difference to Coyle’ comment was more worthy of an ‘oh dear’ than the little quip.
