Every week a bad referee decision is debated over and over but the biggest one of the season looks like it’s been missed by everyone and it could go big time in favour of Blackpool.
I remember screaming and shouting at the Tele that something so simple could end up sending somebody down.
Go back to September and the game between Chelsea and Blackpool at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea were 4-0 up at half time and eased off in the second half, in the final minute Drogba was either tripped in the area or had a decent shot in the area blocked with a defenders hand (this is the only bit I can’t remember for sure) Clattenburg the referee waved played on and with Drogba moaning at him pointed to is watch to indicate that there are only seconds left, about 10 seconds later he blew the final whistle. Drogba again went and questioned him and again Clattenburg virtually said to him your 4-0 up with seconds to go you didn’t need the penalty anyway.
Well that would have put them 5-0 up and Blackpool level on goal difference with us now (still would be above us on goals scored) but it would have put all the bottom 4 on the same goal difference, it would be interesting to see what actually separates all the teams at the end of the season.
It could also stop Chelsea winning the title with them now being level on goal difference with the Manc scum.
