So what’s happened there then?
It’s been played on three times since the begining of December and it’s shocking. Have they been training on it or using it for land-fill perhaps?3 February 2010 at 12:49 pm #21172Just wait till them fatties get on it at the weekend, dreading to see the state of it come the stoke game!
3 February 2010 at 1:07 pm #21174Its not like its condition will impede our passing style of play…oh bugger
3 February 2010 at 3:37 pm #21204Just wait till them fatties get on it at the weekend, dreading to see the state of it come the stoke game!Hopefully not as it will suit their long ball style play better than our on the floor style play. I think the pitch was as bad as our team last night (yes, that bad!!) and it stopped us getting the ball on the ground but why was Bramble giving Notts keeper catching practice during the game? Isn’t that what their goalkeeping coach should be doing at half time!

im glad someone feels a bit passionate about what goes on on the pitch…has he any boots?

Well that explains a lot. I heard the same story last night but didn’t quite believe it given the state it’s been in previously around this time of year.
Still, if you build a stadium on a flood-plain……3 February 2010 at 5:05 pm #21226So what’s happened there then?

3 February 2010 at 5:27 pm #21227A friend of mine who used to work on the ground staff at Bolton says that if you leave undersoil heating on for too long/continually, then you run the risk of it making the pitch boggy
Seeing as how teh club issued a statement when the Villa game was called off saying it had been on continuously for however long, this might be a contributing factor

Then the whole sorry affair will be repeated, with rugby supporters being ultra sensitive of any criticism of their club, you know how it goes.
3 February 2010 at 7:00 pm #21246It was obvious last night (no excuses by the way) that several players werent able to pick up the ball and move quickly due to the pitch, bobbles everywhere. You would think that for a “passing” team we will stuggle the worse it gets.!
3 February 2010 at 7:19 pm #21249Don’t be surprised at Premier League sanctions if the deterioration continues. It’s reverting back to bog state.
3 February 2010 at 8:11 pm #21254Nothing beats Parson’s Meadow, circa 1992.
Pitch had a constant coating of water, which had fungi in it. We had to move the frogs off before each game! If you stood still, you sunk. Hence my favoured style of ‘kick and rush’ worked well.
The DW pitch is DEFINITELY cut out for a direct game, rather than passing.
Honest opinion? I think we should get one of the G4 artificial pitches, which is as near to grass as you can get.
