Would anyone actually miss playing in this overated and over-hyped league?
The main argument for staying in this select little club is the financial aspect with the argument being that we couldnt afford not to be in this league.In reality we struggle financialy to be in this select little band of greed merchants, demonstrated by the fact that we have to keep selling to survive despite the gate money and a small fortune from sky and other forms of sponsorship etc.
Would it not now be a good time to clear out every one of the squad and start again with that money and the parachute payment and bring together a new squad of players who look like they want to die for their shirts rather than amble along and collect disgusting wages for half a job.
Would anyone seriously miss playing in a league where everything is stacked against you,finance, the media and a fair share of refereeing decisions all to see us win 8 or 9 games a season and stay up and show total disregard for both the cup competitions. ITS HARD ENOUGH WITH THE RUGBY BIASED LOCAL COUNCIL AND POLICE AUTHORITIES BEING STILL SO OBVIOUSLY AGAINST US.
A big stumbling block could be that there wouldnt be many clubs out there who would be interested in many of our current squad. Face it are any of them good enough to play in any other Premier League team?
Actually are any of our current squad get in to Paul Jewells 2nd division championship winning side.
Go on Dave a clear out and a new start in the Championship may be more interesting than perenial relegation dogfights and need not cost the club anymore than being in the Premier League of Greed.

im slowly coming around to that train of thought, at least in championship we would be competive, good post btw
I don’t want to relegate as much to stick two fingers up at those muppets who continually tell us we shouldn’t be here and we’re a “disgrace” to the Premiership. Not to mention the peanut huggers in the town. It’s a bugger to go down, but it’s happened to us before and will happen to us again. As for selling off, the better players will have buy out clauses and wage drop clauses, so you’d probably see a different team anyway with the likes of McManaman and Nicholls regulars with a few other youngsters coming through. It wouldn’t be a disaster, even if it would be a bugger at the time.
