      The one I don’t like, and seems to be exclusive to Geordie footballers/football managers (particularly Steve Bruce, Alan Shearer and Paul Gascoigne), is ‘he’s went for the ball’ or ‘we’ve went there to get a result’.

      I’ve went? You’ve went? We’ve went? They’ve went? Bugs me.

        My Gran was quite the opposite and used to correct us all the time !! Explaining to her that I had a hole in my sock I once said ” I’ve got anole in my sock ” She replied ” What’s a nole ” !!

        But did you know that “an orange” was originally “a norange”, from the Spanish “naranja”?

            Old Ed? He’s been around for years, although to be honest I haven’t seen much of him on this board recently.
