The Latics hero gave me the idea, But who is the most passionate and dedicated supporter you have come across, For me it has to be a chap called Darren, Don’t know his surname, He has ginger hair and from up Beech Hill, (him and his dad) go to every game and have for as long as i can remember and his passion in the stands is un-questionable, We used to walk down with them and as they went into the turnstiles we would wander off into one of our 6 sneaking in places.

See Griff, I didn’t even pay then :o
Darren Orme.
He was in my year at Gidlow and was the first person I met who owned a Latics shirt.

darren was always one of those people (& his dad) you used to see every week at springfield park without fail.
there was also a bloke who wore a suit week in week out. he stood & lied down in the pouring rain when everybody else ran into the popular side. for some reason it will always be one of my springy memories.
I got a taxi from home in Ashton the other week and the driver, a Latics fan, was telling me about his mate who has apparently not missed a game home or away for thirty years. He also attends all home reserve fixtures and has only just stopped doing away reserve fixtures since the reserves went non-regional this/last? season.
Don’t know the fella’s name. He may not even exist
