How come no-one noticed the new formation he tried at the end…..
5-0-5
FA Cup Winners 2013, sounds good that
16 May 2011 at 10:40 pm #65836Even looks like SOS (save our season my arse)
16 May 2011 at 10:44 pm #65840Was more like 2-3-5, I can’t remember us having 5 defenders at any point during the second half of the second half. :scared-eek:
From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!17 May 2011 at 12:47 am #65871Towards the end of the game Gary Caldwell was on the right wing and put a cross in that got cleared upfield. I can still remember the feeling of panic as he slowly got off the floor and I remember thinking …..if he’s there who the hell is at the back.
I think we had just Alcaraz with Ali playing rush goalie.

Fantastic, wasn’t it? Like school playground football.Wouldn’t recommend it as a long-term strategy, though.
17 May 2011 at 12:55 am #65876i know it was because west ham were knackered and a little bit poor. But how exciting was it when we broke and Moses, Charlie, Sammon, Hugo and Diame galloping forward like wild stallions. still got a massive smile on my face now as i am typing.
great great game, that will stay with us forever.

17 May 2011 at 2:06 pm #65910I think a cautious 4-5-1 will be the order of the day come Sunday just while the results start filtering through !! At least we now know that we have muscle and pace on the bench that can be utilized when needed as was seen on Sunday gone !
17 May 2011 at 2:11 pm #65913Agreed. Part of the reason Sunday’s approach worked was because West Ham were doing the same at the other end.
Can’t see being that gung-ho.
Or that bad.

If we lose and go down fighting, I’d be far happier than not creating a single chance all day and going down like Audley Harrison.
