Just seen Th’eggs on’t local news report.
So why was their press conference not held at the DW ?
Do they not like the DW ?5 October 2021 at 9:01 pm #194258I thought their HQ was at the Robin Park Arena, and they only used the DW for first team home fixtures. Cant see why they’d have any non-matchday press conference at the DW.
8 October 2021 at 6:55 am #194278They basically hate the fact they use Wigan Athletic’s Stadium to play their games. As they shown through our administration, no help or support (or even paying their bill) whether it be through their website, fans groups or their owners. All they wanted to do was buy the stadium and hope we went out of business. It didn’t happen so they now try to do everything at their new stadium, given to them by our wonderful council. Their Supporters Club meet there now, prematch drinks and food are there, anything that stadium could make money on has been moved to Robin Park. Sooner they are booted out the better.
8 October 2021 at 10:20 am #194287Must admit, I didn’t see our Warriors friends doing much fund raising to help save us. Yet again, as we always have done, do things ourselves the hard way.
They must have been gutted when we survived.8 October 2021 at 4:06 pm #194292(or even paying their bill)
A very strange statement, considering Phoenix 2021 got away with only paying 25% to creditors. If, for example, Wigan Warriors had paid up front for the rent and been in credit in 2020, would you advocate the new co repaying 25% of the credit or 100%?.
As for the comments about supporters club not using the bar etc, the new owners have hardly made them feel welcome, so why on earth would they want to incur additional costs for socialising. If the tenancy agreement is only for matchday use, then it makes perfect business sense not to go near the place on non-matchdays.
Maybe thats why the Warriors havent gone into administration – they spend what they and their owner is prepared to afford, which isnt £500,000 a year players on 6000 season tickets.

The owner has to be prepared to pay it, otherwise it doesn’t happen

Fuck the EFL
13 October 2021 at 10:37 am #194318It makes sense that they do everything at Robin Park Arena, that’s exactly where they will be playing all their home games in not the too distant future. Its only sky sports keeping that shower of Shyte in existence nothing to do with how they run things off the field.
Here’s to all Latics home games and concerts and other events in between at the DW.From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!15 October 2021 at 7:08 pm #194329A small club that have chosen the back yard of football to play in.
