Amazing … our stats yesterday were almost exactly the same as Man Citeh’s today. 71% v 69% possession; 4 v 6 corners; 20 shots v 17 shots; 12 v 7 on target.
Conclusion ….. there must be hope.

All depends if those “shots” by us were stinging the keeper’s hands or forcing him into full stretch, spectacular saves……or whether they were insipid pea rollers’ that the goalie (assuming the shot actually reached him) could pick up by leaning out of the deck chair he could have been sat in (had he fancied a bit of a sit down.)
Conversely, two of their shots ended up in the back of our net, one other forced Marshall at full stretch to just save it by tipping it on to the bar. I assume the one they lashed into the top corner from 25 yards out in the first half didn’t count as a shot given the whistle had blown a second prior. Nonetheless it further showed the capability of their shooting as opposed to ours.
13 January 2020 at 3:11 am #183967That’s the problem zeb. Nothing to do with our tactics or formation, our final ball/shot is dreadful. We need several chances before we even register a meaningful effort. They had 4, scored 2, had 1 disallowed and 1 forced a great save onto the bar.
Garner was the only one who forced a meaningful save and should be starting IMO
13 January 2020 at 10:50 am #183970Let’s not hey, comparing stats with City, were a universe away in style of play to City. It’s all about the quality of the final ball from world class midfielders and the way City’s attackers put them away.
We have a midfield who are sh1t scared of passing forward and prefer the “Let him do it, I’m not” approach.
Comparing City’s stats to ours is like comparing the Australian bush fire to me burning some old tree waste in the back garden.
13 January 2020 at 11:45 am #183973Starting without a striker throughout the xmas program and then Cook states the obvious “scoring goals has been our problem all season “.Garner nets boxing day and as stated hit the target after coming on. Garner and Moore for me but now unlikely with transfer speculation. If we sell Moore then pay Cook off. Quite a few I drink with not renewing next season irrespective of which league we in as long as Cooks still here.
