to the DW me and my youngest made to watch the rugby.
1 – Being able to drink in your seat, if there is one reason to turn to the darkside this is it.
2 – The discipline shown to the refs, no back chat and when it does happen it’s punished straight away.
3 – The referee, rarely do they make mistakes and when they have got a hard decision to make on a Try the video ref is there to help them. (Only thing I don’t agree with this is that it’s only used in matches on the tele, it should be all the time or not at all)
4 – Big screens for the replays, come on Dave get 2 installed in opposite corners other football grounds have them.
And thank god the match wasn’t played on Sunday afternoon or the pitch would be completely knackered now with all the rain during the night and Sunday morning.
Anybody who has known me since school know that i have always liked Rugby due to my Dad taking me when i was a nipper. Always prefered to play it than Football to.
Scoffy, agree with points 2 thru 4 and the (for some strange reason) un-numbered 5th point :D
However, were I forced to drink the slop they serve in the DW for 105 minutes rather than just the 15 I am now, I would have to take up crochet* and stay at home.
* a tenner says LaticsMainMon thinks that crochet is that game that posh folk play on manicured lawns with mallets and balls and tiny metal goal-posts
Regarding the screens, I asked Anthony Clark last year, if we will be getting them in the corners, as they play such a pivotal part in the matchday build up at other grounds, and would be really good. Anthony said to me basically that plans were in place and “watch this space”.
Still watching.
Regarding rugby league, despite what a lot of people may say, it’s a lot more fan-friendlier that football.
I’ve always liked the idea of big screens, so we can really moan at the referee (we will, of course, ignore them if they show he’s right). As to the video ref, you might like to ask a Saints fan how infallible they are after the recent Grand Final!
What i can’t understand about this no booze lark at the football game is that you are allowed to take a hot cup of coffee, tea up there sooner get drowned by beer than scalded by a cup of bovril or the like

I think the rule is to prevent over-aggression brought on by that first-half pint. Never mind the 26 you’ve had before the game, mind!
