Opening day Monsoon at JJB. How well the pitch drained then was amazing.

12 February 2017 at 7:34 pm #155248Walking down Wembley way singing ‘We won it two times’ much to the amusement of the City fans who I must say we’re brilliant before and after that great match. Pinch myself again!
12 February 2017 at 7:38 pm #155249Mass game of football on Wembley car park involving hundreds of fans with various shirts on at The Mercantile Football Festival.
Also Bobby Campbell’s missed penalty. Anyone remember that penalty?12 February 2017 at 8:18 pm #155251Mass game of football on Wembley car park involving hundreds of fans with various shirts on at The Mercantile Football Festival.
Also Bobby Campbell’s missed penalty. Anyone remember that penalty? The only Wembley visit I have missed, but I have seen video footage of the Penalty. Not Bobby Campbells greatest moment in a Latics shirt.
12 February 2017 at 8:23 pm #155252Staff going around Springfield Park with buckets collecting money off fans to help with player wages.
12 February 2017 at 8:27 pm #155253Enduring Stafford Rangers time wasting for 89 minutes, scoring the winner in the 90th minute and Maurice Whittle sitting on the ball as pay back. They were boring gits Stafford, time wasting and hoof ball, not forgetting their infamous off side trap.
‘Get Home Stafford’ was a favourite chant of fans to any team for many years who played with their tactics.

12 February 2017 at 8:43 pm #155255Nob End fans crying at Deepdale, when we sent em down !That was a great day that. They pulled it back to 2-2 and thought they were safe only for us to score another 3 to make it 2-5.
At the final whistle their PA announced they were safe anyway as one of the other teams had lost anyway, and their players and fans were celebrating. Two minutes later the news came through that the other team had scored a very late equaliser and it meant that PNE were actually relegated.
I can still see their fans in the paddock to our left falling to their knees when they realised, and grown men actually crying.
12 February 2017 at 10:04 pm #155257Donny running over a City fans foot when his car was being jostled by the Kippax Yoof.I’m sure that rickety temporary stand in the corner at Main Road wasn’t safe.
Robbed that night, Kevin Sharpe shoul have had a pen; we rattled the bar, then the goat punched in the winner. Cheating refs WE always seem to get them.13 February 2017 at 12:01 am #155258Strike partnerships.
13 February 2017 at 12:28 am #155259Coming out of hotel in Bruges on day of game after overnight trip, had an hour or 2 kip, then made our way to square about dinner time, Wiganer’s everywhere, daft grins on their faces, singing and dancing, not a hit of bother from police or locals and thinking “Wigan in Europe, what the hell are we doing here”…great memories
