Right oh great experts, and “club cant do no wrong” brigade, lets have this discussed.
The deal has been in motion for months now. Our current situation is the Whelans have made it clear they wont put any money forward for transfers this window. The takeover and new owners are now said to only be in place AFTER the transfer window.
Why? Is it only me who is thinking something isnt quite right with all this? It seems they are either stalling or being held back from it going through. And either way, Whelans or new owners, there will be no money available. Why delay until then? To avoid having to put money forward? Thats an ominous start, then.
I await to be told there’s nothing to worry about and Whelan is as pure as Mary Poppins….
Why make it so its timed like that?

I would imagine it takes a while for these sorts of things to go through both with DW and the new owners ensuring the best deal for both parties and all the Football League checks that go on. While it isn’t ideal that their takeover won’t happen until after the window, I still don’t think we need to sell our best assets as we are in a strong position on the field.
Que sera sera I guess.
7 January 2018 at 2:19 pm #164819Don’t expect to hear anything untill it’s done.
The club don’t communicate little unimportant things so there’s no hope on this one.
We seemed to have a better communication system years ago when we were non league.7 January 2018 at 3:31 pm #164828Right oh great experts, and “club cant do no wrong” brigade, lets have this discussed. The deal has been in motion for months now. Vst, I imagine some agreement or condition is in place between the two parties that ensures that the Jan window doesn’t derail the season. In theory Mr Whelan could sell off any player of value and pocket every penny. This will not happen and we already know that Jamie Walker will be a tic come Monday. Despite your distrust of uncle Dave the family are still staunch fans of the club and will want promotion as much as any of us. I’m confident that an arrangement or agreement must be in place to bring us out of this window in good fettle. My concern is the players wanting to move to bigger clubs. There is nothing Mr Whelan or the new owners can do if the vultures circle and our best lads are keen to leave. Way of life marrer unfortunately.
7 January 2018 at 4:06 pm #164829It’s impossible to happen overnight. Masses of points to clear up.
1 Debt, do we have any and if so would you pay for something that was losing money and had existing debts.
2 Assets, what would an owner be buying? Just player contracts and a load of track suits.
3, Rents, What rents would a potential owner have to pay out to various companies for DW, Christopher Park, Euxton if they weren’t to be purchased from the array of companies.
4, Staff, Who would be employed by us or if renting ie ground staff etc. Would the landlord pay these.
5, Pitch, who would be responsible, landlord or new owners.
These are just five highly simplified points. The whole lot is such huge can of worms with accountants and legal representation it’s just so complicated.7 January 2018 at 8:51 pm #164838Ask your mate at the bank to break the terms of his employment (and the law) again and find outI honestly havent got the foggiest what you are referring to. ?????
No mates who work in a bank. ?????
7 January 2018 at 8:53 pm #164839So who’s paying for the Hearts winger?Bit of a daft signing. That money couldve gone towards Evans being signed.
We dont play wingers.

So you havent previously stated your mate works for barclays and told you we are a high risk account? Might wanna check your post history daves.
7 January 2018 at 9:29 pm #164843Jacobs, Massey, Roberts and Byrne were all wingers at one time. I guess he will be used to replace/cover Massey or Jacobs in an attacking mid-field role.

No, I have no friend’s who work for Barclays.
But someone who has, told me we were put as ‘at risk’. Ive no idea if true.
So you were part right. Dont worry, youll get it right eventually….
8 January 2018 at 11:18 am #164851If reports regarding Nick Powell are correct then again some assurances re takeover must be in place to make the lad want to sign a new deal instead of going to the Villa.

Your right you didnt say your friend but you did quote him as a reliable source on more than one thread.
So……..why not ask him what the hold up is seeing as he is happy to divulge other protected data with you via his mate or his dog or his cats dogs parrot?

I’ve been a critic of his in the past for not putting enough effort in but he seems to have changed, maybe it’s hit home that he’s wasting a talent.
