We were busy winning FA Cups at Wembley and stuff like that.
Meanwhile in League One Bournemouth finished runners up on 83 pts to gain promotion to The Championship.
Now then 83 pts from our present position looks easilly achievable and could be. However in the next two seasons the runners up were promoted on 94 and 91 points. That will take a bit of doing but this year 87/88 points may do it.On our current seasons form we will be looking at around another 18/19 points from the ten games left which would leave us short of 87/88 points.We need to kick on now and build on what we have and get winning games. From now on we should be looking at winning 8 out of the ten to gain automatic promotion.That starts on Saturday. Anything less than a win will not be good enough.On current form for the whole league, it wouldn’t surprise me if second spot did get promoted with 80+ points?
These games against bottom of the table teams seem to be our achilles heal, so bring on the bigger games.Did Nob End not get something like 89 points last season and had to contest the play offs!?There’s only 10 games left so max points us & Walsall could get is 95 if all remaining games are won. Likely hood is a couple will be lost & drawn so mid eighties may well take you up this season.
Was looking at league one previous points tally not so long back and this year could be one of the lesser totals to take a team up for a few years. As you say high eighties & nineties has been required in previous seasons.
