You know what?, I think there might be some truth in this one.
Plymouth recently sold Cooper their keeper to Sheffield Utd for £2million up to £4million with appearances and if they go up plus a 25% sell on.
He had 12 months left on his contract and refused to sign a new deal so Plymouth had no choice but to sell and sell now so Rooney will want a keeper in yesterday he’ll be desperate to replace him.
The attraction of Rooney might be the tipping point for Tickle and far far better wages,
Don’t be surprised if he’s gone by the weekend

Look there’s no harm in us selling players that’s the only way we’ll ever get on an even keel.
The Hughes one was a strange one as it started off £5 million up to a possible £7 million, all bullocks because Hughes had a £3.5 million release clause which for me was low.
Hughes’s agent will have negotiated that so I’m sure we had no say otherwise he simply doesn’t sign an extension and we’ll eventually get nothing.
So let’s see what Tickles is set at. Goalkeepers (and good ones) aren’t 10 a penny and their very hard to come by.
If his release clause is hit he’s off I’m certain of that. He’ll look at the stagnant club he’s at, total lack of investment and plan and think, do I really wanna be here or a level up and onto bigger and better things.
It’s the devil and the deep blue sea, keep hold and pray of cash in now ?.
If the rumours are true it would not surprise me in the least the mystery club is Hull because that keeper of there’s has cost them 2 games and they’ve money to spend
If the rumours are true and Tickle goes to Plymouth we can justifiably start asking questions of our new owners . I get we need to sell players to balance the books but this is starting to look like a fire sale . If we let our top assets go so cheaply and not have quality replacements already in place then it’s only going to be a downward spiral. The sustainability model is only going to work if it’s done gradually , slowly bring players through the academy and only when we are ready sell them ,maybe one per season . As it stands ,we are going to be left woefully short with a bunch of young inexperienced players , I fear the worst, I hope I am completely wrong.
I think the issue lies when both Tickle and Hughes re-signed new contracts.
Most players request a buy out clause when extending contracts but it’s the amount were the problem lies.
Is it the club or is it the agent who sets the figure?. The player for me holds all the cards because like Plymouth and what’s gone on with their keeper Cooper. He’d 12 months left, if he doesn’t sign or doesn’t want to the clubs forced to sell and no doubt command a lower amount.
If Tickle and Hughes had say 12 months left we’d get stung. You can’t step in the way of a player who wants to better himself higher league and on far more money we have to be realistic here.
Look I’m as fooked off as the next Latics fan, it’s hard to stomach. It’s wrong and it’s also right, but what can you do ?.
For me we should have shown some ambition in the transfer market and Danson should have backed the manager these players might have done another year to see us through this transitional period but it’s looking like our final two golden nuggets have gone.
Now all these loanees??? Are they as good as anything we can bring through ?
Def not and that’s my issue
IF YOUR GONNA THROW A LOAD OF KIDS IN THROW YOUR FCUKIN OWN IN
Will be gutted to see Sam go , easily man of the match last Saturday but come on lad no disrespect, Plymouth Argyle FFS ??!
Surely better locations and clubs for an England U21 international to go to rather than there.

Rooney won’t be there without backing. In our situation it’s a simple case that, if Maloney cannot get a tune out these kids then it’s a case of:-
1) Danson splashes the cash
2) The manager goes
3) if none of the above? we simply get relegated
Without something changing and we remain with kids and Maloney were down. What really annoys me is Maloney can get a side to play well. You only have to look at those last few games back end of last season.
We cannot carry on the way we’ve started, if the players don’t start to play then the manager has to go and by the sounds of Maloney he’s already had enough of not been backed

Tbh there’s a valid point of view for both sides. As I pointed out before, Danson funded 12months of stupid wages so it’s that outlay I think he’s trying to claw back.
My criticism is the quality of their replacements which has basically turned us into the new Crewe an u21’s side disguised as the first team.
The current squad is a car crash waiting to happen that unless Maloney changes our style of play.
The reigns need to come off and these young lads need to be given more freedom on the pitch to express themselves.
Maloney needs to remove the players shackles and let them loose. Right now I’d sooner lose 4-2 giving it a good go than a shit 1/2-0 offering nothing in the game.
As I previously said, we have all these lads some are here for the season so there’s nothing we can do about that.
It could be a simple case of that Maloney might have to leave the club to let these young lads breath.
I can see Stones out in loan as well

Who knows whether he’ll be here in a week and if not how much we get but unless we do some business then this squad is league 2 bound. Blackburn allegedly interested in Tickle amongst others .The got a lump for Wharton and again for Szmodics and if the Venkys court case today lifts their spending restrictions then they’re willing to pump it back into the squad. Over 200 million in debt if the press stories true so they’d be f##### if the Venkkys turned off the tap . Then again they obviously not concerned about making money……like most owners. Danson has got to invest because surely league 2 will be disastrous for the club’s financial plight.
It’s a toughy, do we invest and go into debt for a 3rd time or do we bite the bullet, kids, loans and have a club.
We’ve been so so reliant on our last two owners to fund half decent squads and we all know what happens when those funds stop.
Blackburn have one of the best academies in the country but how many of those have they sold for big money ?. If your going to conveyer belt very good young lads then eventually they need to break into the first team, get game time then sell on, in our case Tickle & Hughes.
Right now we have a very inexperienced squad and it shows. Maloney has hinted at wanting an older headed No9 so that’s Stones off out on loan for the season mark my words.
Stones’s contract runs out 2025 so we might be seeing the last of him in a Wigan shirt.
I can see Danson’s point of view. He bought a club with problems and lots of them and he funded this dying club till this summer so his first job rather than throw money in is to try and recoup losses like any business would do.
My argument is, while your doing this your not repairing the hole in the sinking ship your basically wacking gaffer tape over it (loans and kids) hoping it holds while you sell what’s left player wise to get your money back and little or no investment into the squad.
Eventually the damage done by sticking tape over the problem rather than addressing the issue will I think leave us with long term irreversible damage sending us to the depths of L2 football.
The only solution I can see is get shut of the manager, and why do I say this ? it’s simple, we can’t change the squad in 10 days and we’re not going to sign 5-6 experienced players in that time. These young lads need a different style of football basically a breath of fresh air and what Maloney asks them to do on a Sat/Tues simply does not suit them.
His frustration is now spilling over and tiny subliminal type replies in post match interviews suggest he’s coming to the end of his tether anyway.
Maloney clearly does not know how to get the best out of these young lads and I’ve seen enough from him last season and this season to suggest he’s style/brand of football has failed us.
I’d get shut now while the seasons young, bring in a young, ambitious, ex player who these young lads can relate to someone not long retired
Who?
Answers on a post card but for us to survive this season he has to go or we need at least 6 older experienced player in in the next 10 days

This Saturday could prove to be a turning point.
This is a must win game (as somebody else has already pointed out) and so Shaun has to throw caution to the wind; a bit like 11th May 2013. Nothing but an emphatic win on Saturday will see the fans restless
Like CW, I have noticed Shaun’s body language regress since the start of the season; to the point where he just rubs his chin and hardly looks at the camera in post match interviews. If he walks, then I would invite:
David Lowe, Ryan Lowe (Plymouth played attractive football during his reign), Jamie Carragher !
There’s only one person who can stop Maloney getting the chop that’s himself.
The confusing thing is that, when the pressures off (back end of last season) he can do it but the thing is, managers rarely play these days without pressure bar the last few games when they’ve nothing to play for.
I don’t think he’ll make bommy night
