Seeing as most other countries have one, I think it’s about time we had one as well. With the changing world environment, I really think it’s only a matter of time.
German teams, for example, usually have one and go off to warmer climes for a training camp.
Waht do you reckon? A good idea to have a break between say, early December to early/mid January? I think one stumbling block will be all the needless friendlies England play, necessitating ‘International Weekends’. They’d have to be cut down, or we’d still be playing mid June.
It would just stop all this rubbish of postponements and having to travel in adverse conditions.
We get it like this once every Preston Guild. No need for a break, in my view1952. I used to have the PNE programme for the match for it. I gave it to one of there fans when we played them at Springfield once.
Granted, we don’t always get it. But with global warming (LOL) and change in the world’s weather, it’s only going to get worse.
Be good not to have to go and sit in a freezing ground over Christmas. Whether it’s on or not on Boxing day, if it’s like this, they can stick it.
