“He is safe (Cook, in his job), as long as we don’t fall into the bottom three”.
Hmmmm….well then?
Bottom 3 is exactly where we deserve to be as well. Table doesnt lie.
Not now it doesn’t no, but all these times we’ve been out of it it has been. Lying bastard.

Been coming for weeks though.
Cook is damn lucky to still have his job at this time.
30 November 2019 at 11:51 am #182419Weird dream early this morning.
Reading were on the attack, their player went through our defence with ease, they were half hearted and gave up, and he rolled the ball past Marshall. Who stood and watched as it rolled past, looking at first like it was rolling wide, but ended up going in right by the post.
Boos from the stands and then Cook immediately substituted Marshall who was flapping his arms about in anger as he trudged off after about 7 minutes played. Not even sure who replaced him, but bizarrely Naismith also came on!
Bit weird, but ffs.

The love of Latics will get to you even in your dreams, there is no escape.
I’d be locked away if I confessed the amount of Latics dreams I really have!
30 November 2019 at 12:30 pm #182422Next two games are huge – fail to pick up a win against Reading or Luton and the gap will get even bigger. Its a tough run of games in December.
Barnsley are gone, Stoke will improve.
Luton are obvious targets, but which is the other club you aspire to finish above to ensure survival?

West Brom or Leeds because we’re going up!
Oops I was dreaming again.
Finishing about Blackburn would be an optimistic achievement but possible if we get it together

As the table stands, Charlton are the lowest placed side that, given their points tally from the first balf of the season, 18 games played, that have more points than games played. If they continue the second half of the season like the first, they would end up with 46 points.
Reading are a place below them, and they have played a game less than half way, 17, and have 18 points. If they beat us today, they will be on 21 points and on course for the coveted 40 points in a season survival target. So for me, its Charlton and Reading we have to look at, although there are a few other teams from 17th place down who are in the mire as of yet. Defeats for Latics today and next week at Luton would be huge.
30 November 2019 at 1:44 pm #182426Defeats for Latics today and next week at Luton would be huge.I’d say it would be bordering on terminal in terms of survival chances, and Cook’s departure would follow very soon after. It does seem that your owners are currently content with staying in the Championship, and 4th bottom is ok for this season.
30 November 2019 at 2:11 pm #182428Ok for now he has my backing but you always give someone a chance then another, and if the mistakes still come he’s bloody not learning, my problem is we can mix it in this devision with anyone and we’ve all seen that so what the ell is happening.

Dont forget though Vat, we play 8 more games in the football league so 40 points might not be enough for survival a la the premier league. 46 – 48 at least would be enough.
