5 February 2013 at 1:26 am #102649Sir Alex with Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola as his backroom staff would struggle to keep us up with the structure of the club. Why cant some on here not get it?.As has been said we have punched above our weight and some of that is down to Bobbys management.Id like to see Harry im a good manager if I have fortunes to spend Rednapp do a better job here.We are always gonna be a team at the wrong end of the table so just accept the fact.Im fookin fed up of hearing about players who did not want to come. That was their decision not the Clubs not Mr Whelans and not Bobbys.Give credit where credits due and if its our last season in the Prem then be proud that we kept in there for a lot longer than the fookin experts reckoned we would.
well said mate if you had told me seven and a half years ago we would last eight seasons in the so called-(never in a million years) best league in the world I would have asked what you were taking!
we have had a good run and loads of luck along the way and we may still avoid the drop as Martinez teams have a weird way of grabbing points when we least expect them.
If we go we go and I will look forward to the new season and the local derbies we wil have instead of boring Dulham and some of the other deluded football clubs who grace the top half of the present league.
the current premier league is by far the poorest in standard I have ever seen and it won’t be long before the money dries up from TV as the crowds start to fall out of sheer boredom of it all.
let’s hope if the worst happens we hang on to the new breed supporters who jumped on the band wagon seven and half years ago.5 February 2013 at 1:27 am #102650We can look forward to the return of Kone from Africa and Boyce from injury, while the recovery of Alcaraz and Lopez would add cover. I was hoping to see more of Miyaichi, who could offer something different.
Otherwise, Martinez hasn’t got much more in the way of resources. The situation is worrying, but three points can make a big difference.
Chelsea face a busy February. They have shown themselves to be fallible against Newcastle, Reading and Brentford. Let’s hope that they continue to let the goals in. I’d be pleased if Wigan came home with a point.
5 February 2013 at 2:37 am #102654Oh and as far as not attracting players it would possibly help if Europes best young manager could maybe get us 5 or 6 places higher and not permanently resemble championship fodder !
So who would you like as the new manager that will take us to the next level ?
Well I thought Bruce did ok for us and despite what has happened to him since not many can deny that surely ! Sunderland are big time Charlies and will always put pressure on their managers. He had to accept the ‘Wigan Way’ and when a club like Sunderland came sniffing you couldn’t blame him really despite the added pressure that he subsequently placed upon himself ! He ain’t doin too badly these days though eh !
Oh yea Bruce what a guy, first sign of a big club opportunity would you say he would pledge is allegiance to the tigers
And who could blame him ! Have a look around at the managers merry-go-round this season ! Do you think RM would have stayed here if he had REALLY been offered the hot seat at Anfield ! The Villa turn-down reason is now quite evident and many could see that but don’t believe all you read re RM turning Liverpool down because there are many insiders who say he didn’t ! RM is doing the best he can to a certain degree here but his stubbornness re tactics needs to be addressed as it was last season. Come on Bob give us a plan B to throw the opposition !

Are you having me on or are you really stupid ? My reply was a loyalty based reply as a riposte to your anti Bruce reply. I will however ask you one more time. Do you think RM would have stayed here if he had REALLY been offered the Liverpool job ? All I was saying initially was that I would have Bruce back any time but that is just my opinion ! He had his reasons for leaving and I think his reasons were justified at the end of the day !
