Shame on you, the Latics fans, players, people of Wigan and the UK have shown what Wigan means to them while you sit back on your mountains of money watching from afar as the club fights for its survival and do nothing.
With enough money to choke a donkey you should be proud of yourselves watching people cycle round the stadium in hope they can raise enough to save the club and auctioning prize possessions for the price of a bottle in your cellar.
Has anybody told you, you can’t take it with you know, it’s the same size box
Suggestion?
You fatcat money guys donate £5 million
Buy the grounds then put them in the safe hands of the supporters club someone who does care,There you go , simples
2 September 2020 at 9:52 am #189116Great sentiments but the Whelans and Jack Walkers of this world are extremely rare, possibly extinct. I really thought the crane/ plant hire family would have got involved supposedly close to 1 billion of wealth and 1 has retired. Read an interview recently where they stated their pride in their roots ……suppose its not really fair to tell someone how to spend their wealth as we don’t know what good causes they may be involved in ,but like you I can’t fathom how they can sit by and watch this disgraceful administration shambles ramble on with no satisfactory conclusion on the horizon.
2 September 2020 at 11:51 am #189118I wonder what would happen if it was the “other” team what was in our predicament?
2 September 2020 at 2:43 pm #189124Everything about this administration has stunk of rats.if it was other team our beloved town hall would be jumping through loopholes.lenagan.just a bloke after one thing. I hope he doesn’t get it.wafc .will always be my sunshine.
2 September 2020 at 9:52 pm #189128As these millionaires have never shown any interest towards the club, even when they were in the greed league, what makes you think they would give a shit now.
If you want to direct your anger correctly, perhaps you should look towards the 20,000 who were at Wembley in 2013, yet haven’t contributed a brass button towards the supporters’ club appeal.
The average donation is £120. If those 20,000 all chipped in just £50, that’s a cool million.
2 September 2020 at 10:18 pm #189129So your saying vent my anger at say a guy at Asda or drives a taxi for not chipping in 50 quid and not a stinking rich multi millionaire who has contributed fcuk all sitting on a cash pile that would make a lottery winner look like a Wigan park tramp ? ffs
Nout stranger than folk

Forget the fact they may or may not have donated, but you do have a point.
All jumped on the bandwagon for the final and the parade. Never been seen since. We’d probably be a more attractive buy averaging 20k every week.
3 September 2020 at 3:56 pm #189142Don’t forget that that wasn’t 20k households, there were three from mine plus my parents and I have done the donation for all 5 of us. I think there were a fair chunk of the attendance that went as families as we were in the lucky position of having loads of tickets. Not sure 20k is the base number but I agree with the sentiment that there aren’t as many contributors as you would hope for
3 September 2020 at 5:53 pm #189143Understand where the OP is coming from but millionaires are millionaires for a reason. They want a return on investment and won’t just give it away. They will to charities because it makes them look good and they can claim it back.. At the moment the club is just a black hole with hardly any chance of getting it back. It needs a fairly wealthy millionaire with a long term plan for the club, that is the way forward.
3 September 2020 at 6:16 pm #189144People with extreme wealth in my experience hate parting with it hence the reason they are very wealthy.
They generally know the price of everything and the value of nothing and have a very mean spirited outlook on life in my opinion.
Not all of them obviously and We struck very lucky with ten benevolent Whelan whom had just floated his company on the stock market from memory.
A true entrepreneur who hadn’t forgot his roots and who wanted to give something back who had a vision and achieved the impossible , we won’t see his like again sadly.
Can’t see a similar situation this time and sadly I doubt any local rich Locals are going to come forward to rescue the club unfortunately.
I hope we get sorted very soon but with every day comes more doubt especially with the dwindling assets and ever depleting playing squad.3 September 2020 at 6:19 pm #189145People with extreme wealth in my experience hate parting with it hence the reason they are very wealthy.

No. I’m saying vent your anger at those who were happy to be Wigan fans when the going was great, but have gone missing.
The millionaires you speak of have never given a fuck about the club, good days or bad, so asking them to donate to a cause they have no interest in is a bit pointless. Its like rattling a poppy tin in the direction of McClean and getting upset when he walks past.
3 September 2020 at 7:46 pm #189147I wonder what would happen if it was the “other” team what was in our predicament?
We all know what would happen. They would stand up and be associated with them. Like Whelan did when he saved them and gave them a place to play at on cheap rent after they had squandered their Tesco money on paying off debt that bought their success in their glory years.
Papers, radio and TV would have been full of the tear inducing bilge too. -
