Three points today, and i think it will be one hell of a new year.
29 December 2013 at 2:36 pm #125351Three points today, and i think it will be one hell of a new year. The next 7 days are crucial to our season. (Isn’t every 7 days?)
2 tough league games, get 6 points, comfortable cup win and then draw another lower league team at home for the 4th round. OR…
Nil points and humiliating cup exit….cue media cries of “the worst ever cup defence”, “fluke cup winners get what they deserve”….etc
The ups and downs of football :cheer:
29 December 2013 at 10:26 pm #125357Suppose drawing with Burnley isn’t as bad as it feels. They were a well orgainized side that were hard to break down. That said, i can only see them going in one direction, and that is south. How bad was their crossing & shooting today.

We were not good in front of goal today for sure. Couple of chances straight at their keeper, we just don’t seem to have anyone with an eye for a goal in the team. Lets hope Uwe sorts it out in the January window. If he does then we don’t have much to fear in this league as from what i have seen so far (at home anyway) no team has shown much quality. This will sound odd but, probably Bolton have been the best team at our place this season?

That said, i can only see them going in one direction, and that is south. How bad was their crossing & shooting today. Our shooting wasn’t much better ! Our crossing was great but we were bereft of clinical finishing, a trait that needs to be remedied in January by purchasing someone with an eye for goal !
29 December 2013 at 11:24 pm #125368We desperately need someone with an eye for goal be it up front or from midfield.
The fact Holt didn’t even get on the pitch today speaks volumes I think. At least Fortune managed to stay on his feet but he was hauled off after 55 minutes !!!!!
I was really pleased preseason when we signed those 2.However they are both past it it appears.
Fingers crossed Uwe can sign someone half decent in the window.
29 December 2013 at 11:30 pm #125371I have heard a rumour we are tracking a lad called Wells at Bradford City (42 goals in 65 games) might be a good acquisition.
