We should beat Doncaster but Rotherham will be difficult. May all depend on two things, Grigg and Powell playing against The Miller’s.
18 November 2017 at 10:49 pm #163426We’ve lost one tworps and you start spitting dummies. We are still in a good position to do what we started out to do at the begining of the season, win promotion. Some of you FFS need your heads wobbling. It is only one loss JR but it was the manor of it that concerns me. Defensively today, from the off we were dreadful.. Burn & Dunkley all over the place, out wide, high up field, miles apart from each other and not talking to each other let alone the ones around them. Bradford had numerous chances in the first half and if they had a good striker they’d have been 3 up and that was all down to our defensive display today.
Upfront, well for me something isn’t right in camp as Toney isn’t a patch on Grigg. Everything Toney can’t do, Grigg can, but isn’t starting?
That performance today is a long way away from the first few games we played at start of season. We haven’t played really well for a while now.

Spot on
18 November 2017 at 10:54 pm #163429Players may have just had an off day. Could still be recovering from their holiday.
18 November 2017 at 10:59 pm #163431Toney awful, lacked any goal threat generally but not sure we deserved to lose. Burn just didn’t defend for their goal, gave the lad yards and let him have a strike at goal. Not sure of keeping but to me didn’t look too clever.
Nah, in no way was Jamie Jones to blame. [/quote]
Thought he was at fault at the time, now I’ve seen it on Sky he definitely was at fault, their man struck it very well, but it was straight at him…..and straight through
18 November 2017 at 11:06 pm #163434Can’t remember but looked like a screamer to me. I’ll have a look at it.
18 November 2017 at 11:16 pm #163436It was a really bloody good goal well taken. Give him credit.
We matched them all over in a really good game up to the last 15 or so minutes. I’m with JR on this. Quit moaning.
However – I really like Cook. But he got it wrong today. If Joyce had been in charge you’d have been screaming for his head.
Toney, as said, is a weak link. Poor, and while League One is probably his level, top of League One isn’t. He was really struggling with a quarter of an hour to go. That was the time to bring Grigg on. But Cook didn’t. Then right at the very death, Toney goes down injured. Grigg is waved to come one, miles too late, but who is taken off? Jacobs. So this is effectively a tactical substitution with 30 seconds remaining. If Toney had gone off I would still have said “too late”, but accepted he had gone off injured. To make a tactical substitution at that point is ludicrous.
And even earlier. Powell was crocked, signalled he needed to come off, but it was a good 5 minutes before he was replaced. And at that point Colclough for me was the one to bring on, someone who could run at them.
A disappointing result, a point would have been fair between two good teams, but we were out-thought and out-fought in that last 15 minutes. We hardly created a chance whereas it had been nip and tuck the whole game.
But, we are second with a game in hand. Please try and stop the whinging.18 November 2017 at 11:16 pm #163437Can’t remember but looked like a screamer to me. I’ll have a look at it.I thought it was a belter too, Dave
19 November 2017 at 12:27 am #163439You just had a good whinge yourself there!!
At least there’s more than the average three visitors been on the board this evening so that’s one positive.
At the end of the day it’s only football and a bit of fun.
We could all learn a lot from the efforts of those young people on the Rickshaw Challenge for Children in Need. I’m in awe of those fantastic young people who just got on with it and despite their disabilities just did it and gave us all a smile and tear.
Onwards and upwards on Tuesday for three points.19 November 2017 at 1:35 am #163440Watched their winner back. Shambolic defending from Burn running away like that from the man with the ball and pretty poor goalkeeping.

I’ve said all season that we are about how we bounce back. If we go on now and win our next 2 or 3 league games, we will have done brilliantly.
I said today that this was the type of game where if we go a goal up, “we are nearer a draw”. When we equalised today, I said that I would’ve taken the point there and then. I think Cook was settling for a draw too, but we allowed ourselves to be undone. Dan Burn SHOULD have committed himself, but he backed off. And having looked at it again, I think our keeper did make an error in his dive…did he dive a fraction too quick? Or did the ball spin? It was a good goal, but preventable.I think we come unstuck when we have a team coming at us directly. Maybe Perkins coming on in his old defensive midfield role in front of the back four may have tightened things up a bit? I just hope other teams don’t get a wind of this. Our frailties were exposed today, but maybe it’s a lesson for Cook and something to think about, come the January window.
On to Doncaster…
19 November 2017 at 2:06 am #163442We were shit……As I posted a few weeks ago Toney is crap. Start with him and were already struggling. Grigg a gamble too so we need defo 2 strikers asap……I’ll repeat my question for 100th time….why did we sign Hunt ???And why doesn’t Colclough get a start……Shrewsbury deserve top spot….10 men and still win……Charlton and Rovers won’t be far behind soon so fed get us some creativity up top and not Toney.
19 November 2017 at 2:18 am #163443Bet the lot of the over paid tossers are out on the piss tonight with their mate/boss planning where they’re going for holiday on the next international break.
Who are the idiots who call for a winter break. At Latics we have one in Autumn and bollox up any momentum and waste a chance to give fringe players valuable match time. Hey ho as long as there’s some sun on your back to recharge the batteries!
Paul Jewell…no comparison.19 November 2017 at 3:30 am #163444I thought the policeman at the bottom of the North stand had an excellent right hook
21 November 2017 at 3:17 pm #163481Just seen the goal again. Great strike. Jones could have gone at it with both hands perhaps but I still think it would have gone in.
