Perkins MOM for me – never stops.
Although got to say that for 60mins watching Wilchut was worth my season ticket price alone.
Agree 99.9% Would have been 100%, but I don’t pay for my season ticket ;)[/quote]
But you do donate the money you would have spent to a good cause right? The full amount! :)
18 October 2015 at 12:53 pm #145378What impressed me the most about yesterday was the way players tracked back when not in possession. Perkins stole the ball a few times on the edge of our box and even Griggs getting back to help out. You can clearly see that Caldwell has been working on that after the 2 soft goals at Bury. I said all along that the back 3 or 4 were always been left to their own devises like other players were standing back saying “Go on, that’s your job”.
The passing was precise, players wanting the ball, and Wilchut is like a breath of fresh air with he’s electric turn off foot he can leave defenders flat footed in the matter of a few strides.
also, Max Power, not the greatest footballer but his workrate is second to non. In some aspects of his game he reminds me of a young James McCarthy basically annoying the opposition which is a job in itself , unsettling the other side.
Lets not forget though, Colchester were poor, very poor, arguing, finger pointing, and 4 or 5 players with hands on their hips after 1/2 an hour looked to me like a team with poor fitness levels. The biggest problem now for Caldwell is, he has just raised the bar to a new height and we have to maintain that week in week out…. but highly impressed with yesterday , not just the win or the score but the general all round play and like I said the defending and getting back in numbers was immense.
18 October 2015 at 5:24 pm #145384i agree with that Max had a cracker today but he has improved since he came,i was also unsure about him,He as put the bar a bit higher now.

Performances like yesterday usually occur 3 – 4 times per season. Tuesdays game might be an absolute bore. But i do get where you are coming from. It was a great win & good all round team performance, which is something i really like about this team.
18 October 2015 at 7:17 pm #145392Unbeaten at home with 5 clean sheets out of 7 and playing in a style that is a delight to watch.
I’ve been saying for a while that this squad of players is by far , I’ll say it again , BY FAR the strongest in this league , and I expect we will get better and better as the season goes on.
Before the Bury game we were 16/1 ( Coral ) to be champions – it would have been foolish not to.
18 October 2015 at 8:58 pm #145393Totally agree……With this squad, and being let off the leash from now on and from what I’ve seen of this league so far then no reason why we can’t be top 2 .
19 October 2015 at 1:59 am #145397Just seen the result FANTASTIC well done And hats off to GC and the boys was it as good as the Scunthorpe game .
19 October 2015 at 3:14 am #145398Still 16-1 with Coral and top 3 quarter of the odds. Good value that.
