No imagination.
Really worried about Wigan’s future.
Not surprised they’re in relegation trouble.
Pass the ball about well, but get absolutely nowhere.
Arsenal’s goalkeeper hasn’t had to make a save.
Boselli not got into the game at all – no threat.
Can’t understand why they’re not having a go for it – may as well lose 4-0 as 2-0.
No – I haven’t turned to the Dark Side – these are comments by the Radio 5 commentators.
1 December 2010 at 12:43 am #52103Correct; and for once they are not wrong or biased !
Paul Jewell anyone ?
1 December 2010 at 12:45 am #52106Paul Jewell anyone ?Yes, because his last appointment to get a club out of Premier League trouble was a great success.
1 December 2010 at 12:54 am #52112AnonymousMmmm.
I haven’t watched it or listened to it or even read the live text, although I did have the BBC webpage open. I haven’t a clue what the game was like. I’m disappointed we lost, but not too disheartened by a 2-0 defeat away at Arsenal. After all, they did field a pretty strong side.
The only thing I am a little puzzled with is the statistics on the BBC website says we had more possession than Arsenal but only managed one goal attempt to their 13.
I’m neither laughing or crying.
1 December 2010 at 1:00 am #52117We have more possesion mate beacause everones behind the ball – easy to keep it but cannot do anything useful worth it, hence 1 shot.
1 December 2010 at 2:00 am #52153At least he managed to keep it 11 against 11 this time.
1 December 2010 at 2:06 am #52157A quote from a new poster !
“I await your onslaught, but I write this on the coach on the way back with it fresh in my memory. It was a disgrace and i sometimes think ‘I can’t wait to leave these refs and league behind “.
Now I dont know if you post on any-other forum but please do tell me….Would you like us to go down ?1 December 2010 at 12:45 pm #52194Please do not blame the ref for that display last night!!
I like many others took half day off work and made it to the game,we
where woefull!!Bob cant cut it in this league..Mr chairman is going
to stick with him that is not a good recipe..To play the system he did last night, with the players he did against
that Arsenal side beggers belief. It was an Arsenal side their to have a
go at and we were poor.Ive watched our beloved Latics for 34 years and will carry on to do so,but Martinez will end our premier league journey.Sorry for the doom and gloom but im very angry about the whole
of last night.1 December 2010 at 2:18 pm #52209Yes, we were woeful, but as soon as I saw that he had picked something less than his ‘strongest’ team, it was obvious we were not taking it seriously.
We had a very, very slim chance of taking anything out of the game and even that disappeared when he picked the team that he did. Players are not stupid (no really, they’re not) and would have realised this too, and therefore put in little or no effort. We had a midfield three who made no attempt to get forward all night. I actually felt sorry for Boselli.
I would glady swap that non-event last night for three points on Saturday. There is no breath being held, however. :(

This man is dragging us down before our very eyes, even the neutrals have noticed his tactics are bereft of any sense !! I feel sorry for the likes of Boselli, a very long way from home playing now and again as a lone striker which is not what he is used to and no hope of bettering himself in this league, which to be honest is probably why he came in the first place. The lad will be completely deflated and wondering why he bothered !

And I’d like to think that at some point during his recruitment, the fact that we play with just one striker was brought up so he had his chance to bale out. Did i mention he gets £38k per week?

So Griff did you forget about his rather large salary when you said you felt sorry for him a couple of posts back ! ;)
1 December 2010 at 2:40 pm #52219I fear for us on Saturday against those long ball merchants Sjoke.
Having said though it may be a game where Steven Caldwell is in his element as all he’ll be doing all day is trying to head long balls out of the box instead of dealing with tricky pacey forwards
1 December 2010 at 2:55 pm #52220So Griff did you forget about his rather large salary when you said you felt sorry for him a couple of posts back ! ;)Nope, because I’m equally sure that during those negotiations nobody said “we will play one up front but more oftent than not it won’t be you and when it is you, our midfield will be so inept that you won’t get so much as a sniff of a chance. Oh, and you’ll freeze your nuts off because we’ll only pick you for night games in the depths of winter”

I believe it was in his contract that Bob has the right to change his mind for no apparent reason should he ever be told to ready himself for a substitution and be standing on the touchline like a spare p r i c k at a wedding !
