I’d go for McCarthur MOM, closely followed by Collison, Ramis and Crainey.
Cant fault any of them really, although Fortune didn’t do much when he came on.
From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!2 April 2014 at 3:43 am #129254I just thought that we should have carried on pushing at 2-1 as they were well on the ropes and I felt that taking Powell off ( For obvious reasons of shutting up shop ) was maybe a mistake and the Gomez substitution although backing up the shutting up shop theory was also puzzling! I have sort of contradicted myself there but what I am saying is, we could have got another if we had just kept on pressing !

I expect they’ll both start on Saturday.
The performance dipped when Powell came off though.
My only gripe was that he brought on McClean rather than Callum.
2 April 2014 at 1:48 pm #129270Would you take a draw right now? I personally think that Uwe will go for it and this will make for a most entertaining game ! If we can beat them it will send out a warning to the next 3 sides due at the DW that we are nigh on invincible at home ! :)
My prediction 2-2
Great prediction.
Hope you had a few quid on it.
What a cracking match that was.
Arguably the league performance of the season.
I would have settled for a point beforehand but having led twice you can’t help but feel a little disappointed.
Don’t bet on correct scores anymore ! I can’t help feeling slightly annoyed with Crainey for giving away that needless free kick in such a dangerous position ! We looked dead on our feet in those last minutes ! Oh and Fortune is pants !
He’s by far the best striker we have in my opinion. I thought he held it up well when he came on and looked much better than Maynard – who was pants.2 April 2014 at 2:32 pm #129271Would you take a draw right now? Maynard’s frustrating and Rosler has given him a chance. Doesn’t get in the right positions much of the time and needs to work harder and go and find the ball more but I do sense there is a good footballer in there.
As for Fortune, poor decisions from him most of the time (and a good few last night) and capable of moments of inspiration (the penalty he got against City) and moments of madness (his ‘shot’ against City). It’s like there are three teams on the pitch when he’s playing; Latics, whoever they are playing and Fortune doing his own thing.

It’s probably fairer to say that he’s the striker on latics bookas who is most suited to playing that lone sriker role. Maynard for me is probably the more natural finisher but doesn’t have the attributes to play up top on his toddIn all honesty though none of the strikers latics have had on their books this season have been much kop & it’s latics weak spot.
I think it’s testament to the rest of the squad & the work Rosler has done since coming in that with 3 strikers who have a mere 10 goals between them this season in all competitions that we’ve reached the semi-final of the FA Cup & look nailed on for a play off berth when you consider some of those around us have the likes of Charlie Austin, Chris Martin, Adam La Fondre & Pavel Pogrebnyak on their books who have upwards of 60 goals between em2 April 2014 at 3:18 pm #129274I just thought that we should have carried on pushing at 2-1 as they were well on the ropes and I felt that taking Powell off ( For obvious reasons of shutting up shop ) was maybe a mistake and the Gomez substitution although backing up the shutting up shop theory was also puzzling! Had to come off before he was sent off.
Great performance and should have really had all 3 points. James McArthur was MOM for me I think.

we did keep pressing problem was mclean kept missin
2 April 2014 at 6:12 pm #129282McEachran came on for Gomez. McEachran is more defensive, so I expected midfield to become a little tighter.
However, it didn’t seem to change the nature of the game. Both sides continued to attack and make chances.
It was 3-5-2 last night, with Boyce, Ramis and Kiernan as the back three and Perch and Crainey as wing backs. It seemed suited to Leicester’s front two, Nugent and Wood.
2 April 2014 at 8:03 pm #129284Thought subs of Gomez and Powell where the difference between going for 3-1 and hang
Ing on at the end. Gomez and Powell for me have the ability to hold the ball in possession and draw 1 or 2 players giving others space around them. Super use has really been a saint since he arrived but I feel he got the subs wrong last night and if Gomez comes off then bring on macca or super Shaun .lets hope he learns from it which I believe he will and in some games you don’t need to make all the sub changes if no injuries .great game though and really enjoying this division .2 April 2014 at 10:25 pm #129287I agree that if we had kept the pressure on Leicester, then we would probably have stayed in the lead.
But we’ve got a very busy programme ahead;
Saturday Home to Leeds
Tuesday Home to Millwall
Saturday Wembley v Arsenal
Good Friday Home to Reading
Easter Monday Away to BurnleyI imagine that Rosler is looking ahead.
2 April 2014 at 11:17 pm #129291again, cracking game last night, would have settled for a draw beforehand, but can’t help thinking we could have taken all three points being in front twice, on the other hand if it had been the other way round and we had come from behind to draw we would have been well chuffed, know what i mean.
