Roberto Martinez will be Christmas light switch-on event this evening
Wigan Athletic Manager Roberto Martinez will be at Wigan Christmas light switch-on this evening to meet fans, sign autographs and have pictures taken.
The Gaffer will be at Market Place from 5.30-6.00pm before the big switch-on takes place, when Anthony Costa (of boy band Blue) and local Big Brother contestant Luke Marsden will also make an appearance.
18 November 2010 at 3:32 pm #51233I can’t contain my excitement….
I stopped getting autographs when I was about 12. And as for Luke Marsden and Anthony Costa, it’s like an ‘who’s who’ of shoite. They are only here because they are going to a charity do/Fashion show at Chicago Rock. How do I know?
Because I was offered the gig and turned it down, as I’m busy working on other things at the moment and taking a couple of weeks out from performing whilst I do some recording.
***Just been informed that PETER ANDRE is going to be there as well. I wonder if he brings Harvey along for the cabaret? They’ll have to keep him away from the buffet, or it’ll be chaos.
18 November 2010 at 5:38 pm #51234I guess Bobby and the other 2 are a step up from the Ronan Keating “look-a-like” they got in a few years back

18 November 2010 at 6:39 pm #51240I’ll be down there my autograph book. I’ve got all of Blue’s autographs except Anthony Costa. What a chance to complete the full set.
18 November 2010 at 6:53 pm #51241I remember about 20 years ago when we had no christmas lights,
I think the council of the day blamed it on Maggie Thatcher ffs!18 November 2010 at 7:03 pm #51242I can imagine Martinez will be too conservative to turn on the lights, not willing to waste the electricity so early in the season :D

Come on someone………fess up and tell us what went on at the Christmas light extravaganza?
Speech by Bob?
Something like ” Sorry folks the lights ain’t working tonight, but they are showing the effort and commitment required. I didn’t feel it was quite the right time to press the switch cos the lights aren’t quite ready yet, they’ll come good in time i’m sure..”
