If they go out on the lash so publically and don’t play to their best a few days later then there will always be references back to the night out.
They could easily have done it all privately and nobody would have batted an eyelid.
It probably wasn’t anything to do with it, but they shouldn’t put themselves in that position.
Caldwell got slated for it and the job was already done.
25 April 2018 at 1:19 pm #168526Will Rovers be on the piss celebrating their promotion last night or will Mowbray rein them in and have a go at the title? Put the champagne on ice as they say!
25 April 2018 at 2:36 pm #168527I for one cannot be arsed if we win the title or not. We achieved our aim on saturday. Lets just celebrate that. Fook me! Some are never satisfied.
25 April 2018 at 3:02 pm #168528Now we have been promoted, I want the title.
25 April 2018 at 3:08 pm #168529‘Positive things happen to Positive thinkers’. For a team with one of the best (if not the best) away record in all divisions should be well capable of winning at Doncaster!!
25 April 2018 at 3:11 pm #168530I didn’t mind as long as we went straight back up but now those deluded Rovers fans have started giving it the old “We are the best team in the league” bollocks I would just love it if we win the league! Reminiscent of Keegan there ha ha ha
25 April 2018 at 3:48 pm #168531Had a discussion with a friend at Bristol last night who reckoned Cook was on his way and that his achievements (though admirable) we’re nothing special for the following reasons. Not sure I agree but does he have a point? His argument was he took on a team with the second highest budget in the league with a number of players who won the league 12 months previous. Burn, Power, Morsy, Jacobs and top scorer in league Grigg would compliment any team and Powell on top of that who is perhaps best player in league! Add a decent few and your laughing in this league was his general sentiment. Time to judge would be next season for him. Does he have a point?

Add a decent few and your laughing in this league was his general sentiment. Time to judge would be next season for him. Does he have a point?Yes he has a point but football is not all about having the best players and biggest budgets. How you manage those players is a major factor on whether you are successful or not. In Paul Cook’s case he seems to have created a good work ethic and a happy, harmonious dressing room which has allowed the players to perform to their expected potential.
As for next season it depends on the standard of the squad that can be assembled but it is unlikely to include too much true Championship quality. That would then be a better measure of Cook’s managerial abilities, if he’s still here that is.
25 April 2018 at 6:49 pm #168533There’s an element of craftyness about what Cook did, letting the players celebrate on Saturday night.
Along with his comments that ruffled a few Blackburn feathers, I think it’s designed to play with Blackburns minds. They had their burst of celebration last night, but won’t be out clubbing. However, if their mental state is one of relief that promotion is sealed, them going to play Charlton at the Valley, who need a win to secure the play offs, could see them come a cropper.
Bristol Rovers away always had a dodgyness to it, a tricky game. I think it would have been a draw, celebration or no celebration. Its out of our system now though and let’s go out and be clinical on Saturday. That said, I wouldn’t mind finding out what hotel Blackburn are staying at, as I think they could do with ‘an early morning wake up call’ of sorts, at around 3am…..
25 April 2018 at 8:05 pm #168536Was in work last night when a few of the Rovers fans who’d been to game came in late.Nothing changes…..still adamant theyre the best league 1 team.Making noises about how they want to finish top to p@@@ Cook off after some of his snide digs he had this week.Really ?….personally I think Cook has been fantastically restrained in light of the sour grapes comments Moanbray has made on more than one occasion since our game at Rovers. They’re supremely confident of getting 6pts and certain we will bottle it.Praying Charlton roger them on Sat and we stuff Wimbledon …..long time since I wanted to stick it up rival supporters !!!
25 April 2018 at 8:19 pm #168537It’s not so much what Cook’s said or not said but more to do with him being and ex-Claret.
Now living in Clitheroe with the family of my better-half being massive Burnley fans I get to taste the real hatred between these two clubs.

Hopefully Charlton can get something themselves.
25 April 2018 at 9:08 pm #168539Charlton have a lot to play for, so I don’t think it will be a pushover for Rovers.
25 April 2018 at 9:31 pm #168540Last night was an excellent point gained. If the lads hadnt been on the lash who knows we still may not have won against a decent Bristol side.
Chuffed as a butty to gain promotion and want the title now but if we dont win the league then it wouldnt be down to the Bristol result but more down to dropping a few of those points in the nil-nils at home.
Yes some of the Rovers fans are cocks but at the end of the day to beat us to the title they will like us have had a magnificent season.
What we should be more concerned about is finishing ahead of them and two other sides next season.26 April 2018 at 12:30 am #168543Remember being on coach to Brighton for that game and never been to a game that we should win, with so many people who were absolutely convinced we would lose, it was their last ever game at the Goldstone, we’d just won promotion, think every single one of us just knew we’d get beat
