Started off really well and a half decent side would have been 3 may be 4-1 up at half time. We conceded just before half time and never got going second half and made a poor Sunderland team look good.

i understand football more than just the score being looked up on sky etc. like most other people do………never a 1-4 game, but the history books say it was. the stats i posted don’t lie -x-

Simple as that.
I have watched Sunderland in their last 3 matches twice on telly and once live and they have got 9 points despite looking an awful team. Battered by Blackburn and then by City but scrounged the points.
Call it the luck of the Irish or what you want but they certainly should have been put to bed in the first half tonight.Three more poor refereeing decisions cost us dearly in the last few minutes, the first being it was a corner for us not a goal kick as we moved into first half stoppage time. Their keeper was rushing like a mad man to prevent it from going behind the line, why would he do that if it had come off our player?.
Secondly Moses was clearly fouled as he ran down the left wing on 48 mins and the ref waved play on. Then with 30 secs on the clock he gave them a nonsense free kick that led to their goal. When you see Wigan players surrounding the referee arguing their point, its usually safe to say they had one. Stam got booked for his troubles.The defending for their second half goals was keystone cop stuff, but I still felt we looked the better all round team.
When are we going to get a game where either a} the ref gives us a dubious decision that results in us winning the game or b] we get totally outplayed for 90 mins and snatch an undeserved winner.
Other teams have games like that surely its going to be our turn sometime.From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!City all but battered them and lost and we outplayed them in large parts and lost so maybe they are just lucky gets eh !! There is a difference though. City were you could say cruelly robbed of at least a point in the dying seconds whereas we made error after error at the back and succumbed to not one but four goals in little over 45 minutes !! We simply collapsed and could not adjust to the changes Bob had made from the start. We bothered Sunderland because they were pretty much thin on the ground first team player wise and on the whole a pretty poor side ! Basic errors have caused us to ship a bagful of goals yet again which is doing us no favours whatsoever goal difference wise !! This does need addressing ASAP !!

Battered by city maybe, but Blackburn didnt get out of their half in the 2nd half of the game. The only chances they had came from long freekicks from robinson up towards samba. Watch the game again if you dont believe me.
Ref gave you a dubious decision at the sol which resulted in you getting back on level terms against the run of play and ultimately winning the game. Like i said before you might feel hard done by but its swings and roundabouts.
Example; Victor moses dives for a penalty at the sol without been touched, Retribution – Bendtner gets freekick that wasnt resulting in goal.
Osman kicks the ground at sol and gets a penalty, Retribution – Ji half a yard offside rounds hart to net the winner v man city.
These things even themselves out over a season so you cant keep blaming referees for your shortcomings
