1) The whole season we won division 3, I was only about 9 at the time, my interest in football was growing, altough I had been going for a few years before, I was now just getting to the age that i was begining to understand, I was selected for junior latics this year and became a Latics nut. Particularly remember a wall chart and the Graeme Jones and Lancashire dual to be top scorer. (what a time to start supporting the tics, all uphill from there). The pitch invasion after Mansfield and the players bringing the cup in the supporters club was unforgettable. Thanks dad!!!!
2) Millwall at Wembley, Paul Rodgers… The lions sleep tonight!!!
3) Arsenal, last league cup game at Highbury, Jason Roberts. I can still hear the Arsenal fans ole’s. Magic.
4) Turning up at the millenium stadium surrounded by blue and white, I couldn’t believe it, god knows how older tics fealt.
5) Reading and the whole of the next season. unbelievable.

22 July 2010 at 7:50 pm #40843Not in any particular order and off the top of my head
1985 v Brentford FRT (seeing Latics at Wembley)
2005 v Reading (the day the dream came true)….Chelsea first PL game must have been an amazing day, but had to miss it
2006 v Man Utd (as said before, yes we got thumped but to see us in a major cup final was just unbelieveable)…semi final win was a fantastic experience as well
1982 v Mansfield (first ever FL promotion)
2003 v Huddersfield (promotion to the Championship, magic day)Incidentally, when was the Sunderland FA Cup game, cant remember that?
23 July 2010 at 2:05 am #408801978 beating Sheffield Weds (my first memory of a Latics game)
1980 Tommy Gore at Chelsea (and the day off school)
2005 Reading at home (yes, I cried)
2007 Sheffield Utd (oh the relief on that final whistle)
2010 Arsenal at home (what a comeback! Just pips the 5-3 win over Port Vale back the early 80s)I can’t list the League Cup semi final game at Highbury as I left 10 minutes before the end and the final was a great experience but totally forgettable game!
23 July 2010 at 11:33 am #40894number one for me is walking up the escalaters in the main stand at the millenium and walking up the steps coming out of the concourse and seeing that huge wigan flag dangling the feeling i got was incredible.
