At last there has been a move for the transfer window to end when the season starts, to me it is logic. When you start the season the team will have trained in pre-season and would start off how the manager could see his best 1st eleven.
It’s like Powell this season, starting well, then could well be tempted away by the 6th game.
I know there would be complications regarding the rest of Europe, but selfishly this general only affects PL Clubs.
There is a vote in the next week or so, we’ll see how it goes.

Did you hear Ian Holloways rant about it on talk shoite? Talked utter bollox he doesn’t think it should be closed kept going on about buying milk and bread and made himself look ridiculous. I’m sure he would change his mind if a few of his best players left before the window shuts.
It’s a no brainer for me. Everyone moans about the disruption it causes. Why Europe wouldn’t agree to it too is beyond me. I know they don t all ko at same time but there’s not a lot in it. The only downside if Europe don’t agree is the alleged unfair advantage with our teams in Europe but the big clubs have more clout in not selling to there European et rivals anyway. In reality its about 8 of our 92 clubs. I think the prem league need a certain majority to overturn any rule which means the big boys can basically veto it
The same should apply to managers/head coaches. You stick with who you have until Christmas. Stop all this ridiculous sackings after a handful of games.
Did wonder when I heard about this how it will work with the rest of the footballing world. I mean if it doesn’t shut for them the can they still make offers for prem club players?
Sure it will be explained in full soon enough.
In response to the voting question, it will be at the meeting of the Premier League (as the world revolves around them ) bosses (first week in September I think), if 14 or more vote for it, there will be a plan to implement next season.
It is ridiculous that teams in this era can play 5 games with players only for any number to be transferred before game 6. Common sense says that a team should start the season off with a squad and that is set until a 2 week period in January where re-reinforcements can be brought in.
Maybe FIFA should look at the season as a whole and have all the major Leagues in Europe inline with each other, therefore allowing a summer of consistence for all teams.
Solution is simple all the major European leagues kick off within a couple of weeks of each other so make the deadline July 31 before anyone kicks off. Not rocket science if all player contracts end at the previous seasons close instead of July.
Go back to how it was. Sign players whenever. If not, then the window shuts at the start of the season.
Banning transfers would be good. Players can only move when out of contract. Would stop agents touting players and taking massive bungs to move players from club to club. If a player signs a 4 year deal he better mean it.
In principle this transfer window closure date is a good thing but long term not sure will be ok without the rest doing the same.
It could hinder prem clubs and foreign clubs could use it to their advantage maybe.
A foreign club could purposely buy a prem player after this closing date reducing prem clubs options to replace.
It does rather annoy me that the only time people are interested in changing the date of the transfer window closing is when it affects one of the ‘big’ clubs  When is was effecting the likes of us, year in year out, nobody was interested.

That is the only logical was a window could work. If it was implemented throughout Europe. That isn’t going to happen though. Not unless the F.A are planning to take the idea to UEFA do it will just be English clubs. Its good for every league beneath the Premiership because how many Premier League sides want to raid lower league clubs in the window? None. It’s all imports. The main danger to League 1 is the Championship scoffing the best available players from the league below. The major, major problem if this proposal is met is that the Coutinho saga etc will continue. It won’t stop the foreign sides like Barca and Real Madrid from hounding the Premiership, unsettling players until their window shuts. I like the idea, it’s a breath of fresh air. Unless teams like Juventus decide to start raiding the likes of Bristol City i would assume the leagues below the Premiership would be pretty much left alone. I think it’s great watching the likes of Liverpool moaning abd saying it’s not fair because a PROPER big club wants one of their players. Not ok any more is it when the shoe is on the other foot. Bring it on i say. I bet you any money about 15 clubs in the top league reject the idea but about 95% of football league sides agree to it. The majority vote will win and the little people have a second victory in as many years.
