Do we still have a two year transfer embargo ? Have not seen it mentioned during the takeover but it will have big impact on the quality of players we can bring in over the summer.

I think the embargo was dependant on how we exited administration.

        We should hopefully be ok.

That’s good to hear. I know it was originally all part of the administration process where it was an automatic twelve points deduction and a two year transfer embargo.

I’d expect a bit of a revolving door with regards to player recruitment for 21/22. Lots of free agents coming in on 1-2 year deals with an option for a 2nd/3rd year in the club’s favour.

This is were the club needs to get it’s act together over the summer months but firstly for me it’s the managers postion that needs sorting. I don’t think Richardson is suited to the job of a been a manager. I see him as a coach and a good one at that. We need a shrewd manager who can bring the right type of player to the club for the right coin.

There will be 100’s and 100’s of players looking for work in the summer so we need to recruit smartly but for me this is the job of an experienced manager who knows the players out there that will do a job for us. We also have quite a few youth players that need to be sorted out after the cnuts gave them all away.

Personally there are only a handful of players I would keep from the current crop so whoever takes that managers job whether it be Richardson or not has a mammoth task on his hands clearing the decks. We built up a youth system that has produced some excellent young lads who we all thought would play in the 1st team at some point but sadly some have gone with little benefit to the club.

I hope new owners have some funds for wages as this will be our bartering tool but my biggest fear is:

            Dropping to League Two,

If this happens I’m afraid the re-building job will twice as long. Again, our first season in League Two will be classed as a consolidation season. It could take 3-5 years minimum to get back to the Championship.

You are spot on with what you say cup winners & it may indeed take 3 – 5 years to return to the championship. But how many clubs has this happened to down the years, only for them to eventually climb back to the top? Quite a few.

The vibe I get with our new owners is that they are ambitious. But they will match that ambition at a steady, patient pace as opposed to wanting over night success. We too need to be patient.

I believe we will come out stronger!!

I just hope everyone has patience runny. I think we both know they won’t. There’ll be some who vanish because we’re in League 2 (probably the most vocal ones through all this) there’ll be those demanding we spend big because we have rich owners (you know the ones “wheres the mccarthy money” and “lets sack cook and get warnock or pearson”)

It will take us a few years to get the right balance not just on the field, but off it too. The damage from this will run real deep.
