We are running coaches to this game on the 19th September, we will depart from Wigan in the early hours and after the Channel crossing will stop for lunch/beer, wine shopping at one of the French Hypermarkets in Calais, if required we will also briefly visit ‘tobacco alley’ in Adinkerke(Belgium) for anyone wanting that type of thing.

    * note all beer/wine and tobacco purchased will be stored in the coach’s luggage space for consumption only when we arrive back in Wigan.

The coach will proceed to Bruge by early afternoon giving plenty time to sample the many bars and cafes in this lovely city, the coach will leave as soon as possible after the game ends for the return directly to Wigan, expected to be about 7:00 am.

The price for this trip is £65

We have facilities to take payment through PayPal.

For bookings or any further information and you please email us at

barryworthington@hotmail.com marking your email Europa league.

exact details of departure points and times will be confirmed shortly.

For ease of organising this trip is being organised in conjunction with Gekko so could anyone who usually travels on Marks coaches please contact him in the the usual way.

There have been a number of posts on most of the fans forums asking about overnight options instead of the day trip :-

I originally got a price for both options but until these posts the response to myself, Barry off Vital and Gekko of here, who are all taking bookings, was poor for the overnight option.
We have 100 + provisional bookings already with people paying over the weekend, between us we only got 4 or 5 enquiries for a stop over.

However if there is a genuine interest I am still prepared to organise and run an overnight stay, these are the details I had originally arranged and I see no need to alter them.

The coach would leave from Wigan early morning (6 or 7 am) Wednesday 18th September, after the channel crossing we would proceed to a wine/beer warehouse or hypermarket in Calais for a bit of shopping or something to eat/drink, the coach would then travel into Belgium with a short stop at the ‘tobacco alley’ shops in Adinkerke for anyone wanting to purchase cigarettes etc.

All this produce beer/wine and cigs are then locked away in the coach luggage area until we arrive back in Wigan.

From here we would then make the short journey to Ostend, where simple 2/3 star accommodation has been arranged, all rooms are twins so everyone would need to share. The reason for staying in Ostend is the night life and hotel availability is far better than Bruges, there is a red light district, lots of bars and clubs a fantastic sea front promenade with open fronted café bars.

The hotel stay includes continental breakfast.

The following morning would be free to spend some time nursing hangovers or having a nice stroll round the harbour or up the promenade, leaving Ostend at about 1 or 2 pm for the 20 minute drive to Bruges. Again there are plenty bars and cafes in the main square were most Latics fans will probably head to.

The return journey would then be same as the day trip, leaving straight after the game and back in Wigan for about 7:00 am on Friday morning.

The cost for this trip is £130.

Can anyone interested in this option please email us at wiganineurope@hotmail.co.uk with a telephone number so someone can contact you.

Heard in the supporters club before the game on Sat that details of flight packages ought to be available today ??

I’d be happy to fly in and out on the day or incorporating an overnight stay … Don’t fancy two nights on a coach so would assume there might be a couple of hundred flike minded folk who might make a charter flight viable ?
