Just about happy with point….Bogle looks like goals in him.Pity Joyce didn’t start with em both.Very poor 1st half…midfield crap….give Power a rest for Christ’s sake.Still reckon he’ll start with 1 up front again Saturday.
Dreadful first half performance and laurel
And hardy defending in the second half however a point is better than I expected and bogles performance and set piece goals gives some hope for the coming weeks.
A tough month ahead but a point gained in my view.
Wouldn’t mind that Cameron Jerome up front for Latics but he wouldn’t do much in the way we lined up and played the game last Friday and first half today.
Finishing line up from tonight on Saturday please but with three changes. The keeper who should control his own box better changed for Gilks or Jussi, Obertan for Jacobs and another midfielder for Power.
First half was horrendous but second was better.

Certainly a big improvement when we went 442 second half, but then again just about anything would have been an improvement on the first half!
We’re “officially” in the drop zone now and given the next 3 fixtures the task looks very tough. Bogle looks like he could be a real handful, IF he gets the support.
Surely Yootha will now go 442 at least at home
I would also drop Burn and put Bruce in for experience. Burn led a charmed life tonight with his inability to read the game seeing him having to make stretching last ditch tackles due to said inability, he makes it hard work for himself most of the time!

Or 4 5 1 so long as one of the 5 is either Grigg or Bogle and the 1 is the other.

Except it wasn’t 4-4-2, it was still 4-5-1. Certainly Grigg played further forward to support the striker (which is how it should work, Jacobs has just not been up to the job in the past), but we did not have 2 up front alongside each other.
Added to which the risk of 4-4-2 of a depleted midfield was lessened by Bogle running his little socks off and dropping back, even into defence when needed.
We have a gem, that just now needs to get up to Championship pace (eg the offsides against better defences than he has faced up to now).

You for real ???, he had a stormer. Last ditch tackles are all apart of a defender’s game. The tackle he made in the box when chasing back a one on one was top draw and the one on the dead ball line skinned him and came away with it. What game were you watching ??.
If we can add a little bit of width even on one side I can see goals.
That second half was exactly what Wigan fans, want to see regardless of the result, players giving it 100% and we could have nicked at the death.
Bogle is a breath of fresh air and like Heskey he’s not scared to drop back in and do some defending duties when needed.
I would sooner go down trying and drawing 2-2 or losing 3-2 with 2 up front as opposed to 0-0 draws 1-0 losses with 1 up front.

We were laughing about this on the way back to the Brick after the game.
The goals came from a free kick and a corner, it wasn’t 442, and I don’t recall Grigg and Bogle linking up at any point – but still we’ll have people last night/this morning claiming that 442 is the way forwards.
PS. Dan Burn was MOM for me last night. I thought he was outstanding.
Well I am in agreement that wasnt classic 4-4-2 but playing with two strikers on the field and upping the tempo gave us the impetus to attack and go forward which forced the corner and free kick that gave us the goals. Burn didnt have a stinker but did look clumbsy at times but the keeper is too static and Power and Jacobs were less than outstanding yet again.
