We have all encountered the “im a Man U fan tho i know nowt and talk bollox” brigade and this week I had a classic. I was in Flint waiting to load and the loader walked over and seeing my Latics stuff in the truck window he approached me and at this point i didnt know he was a utd moron this is how the conversation went word for word.
Him: “so, what league are Wigan in then?”
Me slightly aghast “Premier League”
Him “oh did they come up last season then?”
Me even more aghast “no we have been in the Prem for six seasons”
Him “do you watch them then?”
Me “yes ive been going for over 40 yrs”
Him “I went to Old Trafford in Feb we beat Birmingham 5-0 we murdered em”
Him again “whats your ground like is it any good?”
Me ” its great its a nice stadium”
Him “how many does it hold”
Me “25000”
Him ” oh another two thirds and it would be as big as ours”
now i enjoyed maths at school and surely 25000 and another two thirds makes a nats nadger over 41000, 3 times as many would have been the correct retort would it not?. What planet would you have to be on not to know Wigan Ath have been a Premier League team since 2005? :confusion-seeingstars:

19 March 2011 at 11:48 am #62183Did you know that unusually Chester’s offices are in their eastern stand rather than the usual western stand (most main stands are in the west so the sun doesn’t get in patrons’ eyes). This is because the England-Wales border runs down the touchline, and so if the offices were in the western stand they’d be a Welsh club.
Fact number 1 of the morning.
