When this lot took over the club they said they wanted to invest in bringing our own players through. WELL TELL COOK THAT COZ HE AINT LISTENING. We obviously have some real talent and prospects at the club and unless they start getting chances with the first team we will lose them to other clubs.
We were a joy to watch last night and if we keep the ship steady they’ll come through. But there is a huge gulf between under 23s and Championship level where you playing against seasoned internationals.
If I was Cook tho, I’d be looking over my shoulder as it looks like we’ve found our new manager.
We are not talking of moving all the u23’s to the first team we are talking of 3 or 4. Of course EPL U23 teams are getting beat by league one and league two teams there will be players in those teams who haven’t developed yet and maybe 16/17 year olds.
We are losing most weekends, continue with the same players, formation, tactics etc we will be relegated without a shadow of doubt.
Like what happened with Baines, you don’t give um a chance you will never know whether they will take the big step up or not. He got hammered on his debut but it didn’t knock him back he stuck to the task and the rest is history.
I can’t understand why Cook is hung up on age and computer stats. Some of the Liverpool U23 players last night are on more money than our first teamers. 5-6 where in the team that beat Everton in the cup the other week.

What a journey!Watched the game before and as others have said we were excellent. Jones, Obi and Crankshaw all looked good.
Gary Roberts coming on as a sub whilst chasing the game. How good would it have been to see Crankshaw or Joseph coming on. We may not have won but we didn’t anyway.

Been playing well in their development squad so thrown in to see how he faired, never missed a game since. Cook talks about not many young players making the big step up, guess what the reason for that is down to managers like him.From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!Would be great to see but like I said, they’d be under pressure to do something to win the game and to not make a mistake and lose us the game. Some players thrive off that (wayne rooney for example although he’d been playing a while before that goal) others dont. Cook obviously doesn’t want to put them in that position.

Exactly and that’s why relegation is now a certainty.

What a journey!They may all get starts next season if we do go downA possible reason why they aren’t too concerned about sacking cook. They want him to seemingly manage the project and as I said if that’s the case then he won’t go anywhere regardless of our division
