I’ve a feeling Wood’s late equalizer against Everton will put paid to that deal. What’s more worrying is the attacking and goal scoring chances we are making.
I remember watching a Brentford live game last season not long after Rosler had left and one of the Brentford players was interviewed on the pitch.
He was asked what’s the difference now Rosler has gone , it words similar he said “we don’t get our ears bent with all the shouting”. Like a parent/school teacher/boss, if you shout long and loud enough people will eventually take no notice of you and even resent you.
17 August 2014 at 4:07 pm #132828Far too early to be panicking. We’ve scored in every game and have shown a good fight to pull ourselves back when we’ve gone behind. But the naievity and inexperience he showed towards the last third of last season is coming through.
If the team is still trying to gel he should have played the same team from Reading against Burton so that (whatever the outcome) by the time we played Charlton they would have started to be more of a unit. Now the pressure is on a weary, demoralised team away on a Tuesday night at la relegated prem team.
Have also got a sneaky suspicion that Maccas two goals will have alerted a few teams – losing both him and MacArthur at the end of the month would be disastrous.17 August 2014 at 4:37 pm #132836Far too early to be panicking. Whilst everyone has been moaning about our lack of a decent striker, our troubles seem to be in the defensive areas. :woohoo:
From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!17 August 2014 at 10:59 pm #132851For me there was something just not quite right at that fans meet the manager questions thing? Couldn’t put my finger on what but he didn’t come across as amiable ! I thought he was the man for the job and still might prove to be but his tinkering is a concern for me! Was the new striker injured today, if not then a concerning substitution !
Brentford fans rated him as arrogant and clueless.[/quote]
Well he came across as a right childish plonker yesterday.
He didn’t like the way the Charlton manager celebrated ???
I’d be more concerned that we don’t seem to have a number 9 who looks like scoring at the moment and we are conceding 2 a game.
18 August 2014 at 2:16 am #132855Maybe it was a bit of passion from UWE a bit what the fans and players are lacking at the moment
18 August 2014 at 4:27 am #132857I would have taken it more as cracks starting to show myself!
18 August 2014 at 12:11 pm #132858There’s something just not right with player’s we’ve signed and team selection,
Taylor
Cowie
Riera
non of who I can say I’d heard much of before they arrived and they don’t set the world alight. Then Garcia ? what’s the point ? if you don’t fancy him just get shut. Tavernier’s another, he does well pre-season but doesn’t get a sniff. Then there’s the back line your basically guessing who’ll be on the team sheet with all the chopping and changing game to game.
There’s too much emphasis on fitness and not enough on tactics and team selection. If 5-6 players were not fit on the opening game of the season they should be fined, end of. It’s their job and duty to maintain fitness 365 a year and a couple of weeks boot camping it (so to speak) should see the ready to go,, its all a load of bollox saying he’s not “match fit” you either are or you aren’t that for me was an embarrassing statement saying players are not fit on KO day.And last but not least Holt, ………………………. fill the gaps in yourself
18 August 2014 at 4:11 pm #132861Garcia’s gone. As for Tavernier, yes he looked good in pre season, but shocking at Burton.
19 August 2014 at 8:10 pm #132877This is a worrying statistic really:
Wigan have won only one of their last nine games in all competitions either side of the summer. Their only win since mid-April was 1-0 at Birmingham in the Championship on 29 April.

I now understand why so many Prem teams slip quickly down into Div 1. Once the Prem money dries up a full rebuilding is needed and done on the ultra-cheap

And we scored in the 2nd minute and spent the following 93 minutes on the back foot in that game.
