Latics to play final pre-season friendly against Celta Vigo

    Celta Vigo v Wigan Athletic
    Pre-Season Friendly
Sunday 12th August, kick off 8.30pm (local time)
    Balaidos, Vigo

Wigan Athletic will play their final pre-season friendly match against Celta Vigo in Northern Spain this Sunday as manager Roberto Martinez makes the final preparations for the opening day of the Barclays Premier League season against Chelsea.

Chelsea will visit the DW Stadium on Sunday 19th August so those players who are given the opportunity to impress against Celta Vigo will be looking ensure their name is on the team sheet in a week’s time.

Celta will provide a tough test for Latics having finished 2nd in La Liga’s Segunda Divison, earning promotion to the top flight meaning that they will be locking horns with the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona this season. The game will take place at the 32,000 seater Balaidos, the home of Los Celestes (The Sky Blues).

    Latics Team News

The only injury concern for Latics is the back problem for James McArthur, the 24-year-old shook off a knee problem before cruelly picking up a back spasm which has kept him out of any pre-season action thus far.

Hopefully we get through this ok with no Injuries!
