I agree….if Shrewsbury win tonight they will be top off the league now that could be a springboard for them to go on and win the league.if they do they truly deserve it with the budget they had. Compared to us and Blackburn.
It’s all down to us tonight to take the reigns and push on. Walsall are shipping goals at the moment so with the FA Cup out the way and Blackburn no game this Saturday it’s our chance to start clawing in the game in hand points. If we don’t win tonight then we’ll only have ourselves to blame come 5th of May 19:30
If we are not in the automatic promotion places by that date we will only have ourselves to blame anyway.
We only have ourselves to blame either way Donny. Everything in our hands, just where we would want it to be.
You could easily have a situation this season where ourselves, Blackburn and Shrewsbury finish with a points total in the mid to high nineties. Not to become champions let alone get automatic promotion with so many points is unprecedented and would be a massive disappointment for whoever loses out.
It should be remembered that two seasons ago under Caldwell we won the league with 87 points.Even though it’s in our hands our task has been made ever the more difficult because of the performances of the other two other teams. So, let’s not become too critical when results don’t go our way and we all get a bout of squeaky bum. This could very well be decided on the last day of the season.
