As we enter the final week of the transfer window it seems pretty obvious our new owners are skint and don’t have a penny to invest in the club. As we hover a couple of bad results above the relegation zone it’s hard to take the nonsense they spoke when taking over as anything but a joke.

        Cough…tax dodge….Cough…

To all those laughing and sniggering at Bolton and there situation, just be aware that they have one advantage on us. They KNOW what their chairman is…..

We havent got a clue yet. We could go down a similar route. It concerns me that DW covered our club all those years. Will this lot offset the wages and costs, that the home support average of 8000 or so just will not cover.

        Could be tough times ahead….

So much for the premiership and what they said, what a load of cock.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but have they ever talked about major investment? From the snippets I’ve seen they have only ever talked about the youth system.

I would have thought that there would have been some sort of pre match, on the pitch introduction when the takeover was eventually finalised? Or did I miss it? If i didn’t miss it then it’s all a bit strange if you ask me!

From what I remember it was made clear that we wouldn’t be spending big on transfer fees. There was never any mention of a war chest except in the blurred memory of some of our fans.

You mean they haven’t decided to spend their own money to sign players? Ludicrous. Sack the board.

The take over is a bit unusual, but not for any bad reason.
IEC are a corporate body, not individuals. We are owned by a company, whereas most takeovers are by individuals. Maybe we could have had a representative “on the pitch” but that would focus everything on that individual who may not be with the company next week, rather than the company as an entity.
                Doesn’t bother me at all.

Similarly they have never promised huge investment, but they have promised careful financial management.
I think a lot of our fans have got above themselves. IEC are doing absolutely everything to avoid us going down Bolton’s path.

IEC as a company are also not that rich.

What do people seriously expect in this transfer window?

The January window is notoriously last-minute, as clubs don’t like to release players unless they’ve got a replacement lined up, or they’ll hold on until the final day – trying to get as high a bid for their player as possible.

Plus, the club are hardly going to openly announce who they’re trying to do a deal on or how much they have as a transfer kitty are they?

Id expect us not to sell our best striker. And thats what he is. I dont care what anybody says

I’d have expected to have signed a left back in the first week and also not expect us to sell our best striker.
