Rise up the league, now they have appointed Steve Bruce !
Wish we had him at the moment.4 September 2024 at 1:16 pm #203642Yep, right now I’d swop Shaun for Bruce; don’t think he would be a philosopher of the tippy-tappy let’s walk and pass game.
4 September 2024 at 2:51 pm #203643Not for me Bruce has had his time sell by date expired, I’d stick Boycey in 1st
4 September 2024 at 4:30 pm #203644Interesting appointment plays direct football and seems a tough character but I always feel players respond to
Players they have looked up to growing up ,he played decades ago and very few people under the age of 40 will remember him as a player.
They seem a fickle bunch of supporters up there , teddy out the cot types in
My view , he will have to hit the ground running fast.4 September 2024 at 5:00 pm #203645And I’m confident he will
5 September 2024 at 5:13 pm #203648I personally think he should have bowed out after the Newcastle job.
He would have left for good and to be fair he would have had a reasonable career as a manager with his best days in my opinion at Latics in his second spell.
I had no issues with the bloke , a very decent but underrated player and a good manager whilst he was here and I always liked how his teams played during his very successful second spell.
Good luck to him , hope I am wrong and he launches Blackpool up the table.
Nice swan song for him with a far more ambitious and go ahead club than we appear to be at the present time.6 September 2024 at 8:03 am #203653He will sort Blackpool out I think. Newcastle is a poisoned chalice, as Howe will find out eventually if they don’t win anything. Big club, but one that’s won shite all for decades. Even the late great Sir Bobby Robson couldn’t get silverware there. Nor Kevin Keegan.
Great appointment for the seasiders, in my opinion. There are not many more experienced football managers about than Steve Bruce, a real football man, and I wish we had managed to get him here again. He would have sorted put basics out. It might not have been pretty, but of you sort the basics out first, not letting goals in, you can then look at being a bit fancier.
6 September 2024 at 1:01 pm #203654I tend to agree with vinceHill I think his best years are behind him. He’s 64 soon and after the Newcastle job I thought he’d call it a day.
Let’s bare in mind, in alot of his appointments he’s had cash to spend, I think that might not be the case at Blackpool.
I’m not one for black cat, magpie, hocus pocus bollox but this is his 13th managerial job -
