Oi yosser, before the Latics game I saw loads of sadasses all over Robin Park wearing their nauseating cherry and shite shirts obviously stocking up before they sat down in front of the box. I bet you don’t see many today coz you fickle fookers will be suicidal. Even though we dropped 2 points this weekend has become a blinder. The sooner that pathetic excuse of a sport is gone forever the better. Gonna have many beers later in toast of Hull, even Fosters will probably taste sweet today and its sheepdip.
27 August 2017 at 7:54 pm #161536Stacks of empty seats and less than 65000 there.
Maybe with us playing at home fans who follow both clubs opted to stay in Wigan and go to the DW.
It certainly didn’t make any difference to our official attendance. With less than 2000 away fans the gate was up from the Bury match who brought around 1200. Yes we had slightly less home fans there today but this is probably down to the pay on the day price which was incidentally more expensive than many Wembley tickets today. INothing to do with the national rail system being on lockdown all weekend is it?
How many coaches do you think there were available in Wigan. To take the mickey out of 60 odd thousand is a bit rich when you had a conference attendance. Turning Blue :silly: :silly: :silly: Ask yourself where the other thousands of fans were today :P ;) Portsmouth brought 3,000 so that leaves 6,000 home fans and you can subtract the guaranteed attendance figures from season ticket holders so how many were really there? 4000? MASSIVE support.
I for one, don’t pay too much attention to EX supporters opinions.
27 August 2017 at 8:18 pm #161537Out with the better half last night, pubs heaving with rugby fanatics who watched game in pubs. Couldn’t give a flying how many did or didn’t go,or the result. Please don’t get dragged in to the eternal rugby town bollocks.Leave them to lament their ever dwindling status soon to be on a par with water polo.
27 August 2017 at 8:39 pm #161538What’s all this about, was there another match on yesterday besides the footy games, test match and the woman’s rugby union final?
From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!27 August 2017 at 10:09 pm #161539We approached Portsmouth and they said no do nothing selfish there.
Taken from another thread:
Clearly in the know more than I am as I wasn’t aware of a requested fixture change.Either you or Egg is wrong. You say there was a request, he says not.
DW has since said he tried to switch it but pompey wouldnt. Unlike Lenegan he didnt do it anyway.
Wigan were second best yesterday and deserved to lose.
27 August 2017 at 10:24 pm #161540Ive asked this before,
Are we that desperate on this site for posters?
Another one of my posts deleted today by the mods but yet the mods let the fuckin lardies post their drivel regardless.
If we tried it on the Gypo site we wouldnt last 5 minutes, going to the dogs this site!
Fuck the EFL
27 August 2017 at 11:01 pm #161541Post it without foul language and sbuse and it won’t be deleted.
As I have said (as a rugby fan) several times, the difference on this site is the rugby fans make themselves look stupid as opposed to being made to look stupid.
27 August 2017 at 11:14 pm #161542So we’ll expect ALL threads to be foul language and abuse free from now on shall we?
Fair enough so long as that applies to everyone.
Fuck the EFL
27 August 2017 at 11:39 pm #161543Another one of my posts deleted today by the mods but yet the mods let the /deleted by mod/ lardies post their drivel regardless. What posts would they be?
I don’t mean posts that disagree with your view, I mean posts that SHOULD be deleted because of bad language or threats?
Was your post perhaps linked with another that was deleted, so as a standalone would appear odd?
If we delete everything that we disagree with then we would have no forum for debate.27 August 2017 at 11:54 pm #161544They used to in my view have the local rags in their pockets prior to games like this in the eighties and nineties.
Hardly a day went by without some toothless ugly mug glaring out of a local newspaper column back then and they would open an envelope if it meant a photograph in the local or national papers.
The papers without a doubt held sway back then and add in the annual trip to Wembley which gave the competitors national publicity it goes without saying that they milked it for all it was worth.
Media coverage of ticket sales queues (hmmm) and warnings of sell outs etc made tickets shift as fast as warm muffin man pies.filming of the send off etc and endless newspaper features meant it was easy to shift 20000 plus each year.
They never missed a trick to promote Wigan as a rugby town where every soul was obsessed with the game and who can forget their annual homecoming went at Central Park where they threw open the gates to welcome everybody for a staged party .
Brilliant salesmanship is what it was but latics started to stir in 1997 And things changed forever.
We will never see those times again as we achieved success beyond anything they could dream about and we drew worldwide prominence , the rugby town myth was destroyed once we hit the big time .
Wasn’t surprised to see the poor turnout but fair play to the loyal ones who went and carried on going once their 90s party was over.28 August 2017 at 12:50 am #161545Another one of my posts deleted today by the mods but yet the mods let the /deleted by mod/ lardies post their drivel regardless.

This is a Wigan Athletic forum not a forum for rugby trolls!
For what reason are they allowed to troll these boards and try to wind up Latics fans?Fuck the EFL
