Cos Diame was atrocious. In the second half he didn’t touch the ball until the 92nd minute. If he put a shift in, it might take some of the pressure off the defensive half of our team. Why was McArthur not paired up with McArthy ????? Diame just ambled about. Even Gomez would have been a better bet. At this stage of the season we cannot afford lazy overpaid passengers.
Good point must give MacArthur a start satday
Diame and Thomas are two of the poorest midfield players we have had for a while.
The two Mc’s have to be in the starting line up on Saturday.What I want to know is, what would Alan Hansen have made of the opening goal for them !! Did you see how far apart the two central defenders were !! And where was Figueroa meant to be playing because he didnt appear to be playing as a left back ! And finally the 4 3 3 didnt last long did it !! PATHETIC ! :(
I still say that Diame offers flair and somethign different. For the first 45 minutes he was all over the shop, should have gone off in the second half.
from what I heard & read, McCarthur was superb on Saturday in a second string XI against what was Bolton’s strongest line up
What is his reward for the next game? To be dropped to the bench & even ranked behind Thomas when Bobby decides to make a midfield change – the wrong one as it happens
The same can be said for McManaman who didn’t even make the bench & this we had no options to change the forward line about
As for Diame – I’d agree with Edinburgh that when he’s on song he offers some flair & somet none of our other midfielders can do but man is he one lazy git!!! I can’t remember at what stage it was last night but a WBA midfielder got the ball about 10 yards outside our box & Diame was the nearest midfielder about 2 to 3 yards away. You could see their man was lining up a shot & I think any midfielder worth their salt would have bust a gut to get some form of block or tackle in. Diame just stopped running

I just dont think we have a good enough squad to successfully pull off a result with any formation at the moment ! What is it now, won 1 in 10 or 11 !! The writing is on the wall and I think most of us know the reason why ! Can you look at the whole squad and honestly pick out 15 or 16 players who could be used on a regular basis and do the business for us because I cant !
