Not what you are thinking, but this is the weekend we beat Millwall…
It lead to a final and the consequent greatest football trip of my life to Belgium18 April 2020 at 11:31 pm #186046Desperate for a Latics match now of any level. So long as nobody is put at risk.
Up the Tics
19 April 2020 at 2:54 am #186048Virus or no virus whenever it ends we will always be Wigan Athletic greatest story ever told. 50 years this club has ruled my life and I wouldnt change a single day of it. Best club best fans end of .
20 April 2020 at 2:41 pm #186056Biggest smallest club on the planet!
21 April 2020 at 5:10 pm #186059Best description of Latics I have seen that ‘ biggest smallest club ‘ .
A small club with 10000 diehards who sound like 30000 when roused , so very proud of our club and culture surrounding it.
Have a feeling we will be back very soon22 April 2020 at 1:08 am #186060Best description of Latics I have seen that ‘ biggest smallest club ‘ .

Have a feeling we will be back very soon10,000 die hards? Struggled to get 7500 home fans in this season.
10,000 turning up every week would be great.
Totally know what you mean though.
Would like to see this season scrapped though.
Just wouldn’t be right to re-start now. Shame for Barrow and yet another lifeline for Horwich but come on seasons finished, contracts are nearing the end and hopefully we can start again at the end of August.23 April 2020 at 11:51 am #186064Best description of Latics I have seen that ‘ biggest smallest club ‘ .

Looking unlikely this season will finish especially with the social distancing measures on gatherings etc.23 April 2020 at 1:17 pm #186065Can’t believe it’s still being discussed. Mad how money dictates that clubs are considering quarantining players for months just to play some shite games in empty stadiums because that’s what footballs become. Without fans it’s completely meaningless. Listening to some politicians yesterday they didn’t think it was possible to have social gatherings in the next 12 months. I would be more worried on whether next season will start rather than trying to cram in 10 pointless games after players haven’t played for 10 weeks. What a ridiculous idea.
25 April 2020 at 1:25 pm #186068It was a bitter sweet day the Semi.
Felt superb coming out of the stadium only to have to protect my wife and 2 kids from the Millwall morons that were trying to pick fights with anyone that would take them on.
FA Cup Winners 2013, sounds good that
25 April 2020 at 1:57 pm #186073I’d have had money on Mrs T before you pal ;)
26 April 2020 at 11:25 am #186078I’m not sure if it’s just me, but I dont understand this playing behind closed doors malarkey. The government have advised that we need to remain in quarantine for some time yet. & even when the virus has run its course or died down, the government are still advising that we keep to the social distancing for at least until the end of the year.
So, how can football go ahead when players will be coming into contact with one another on a regular basis?
26 April 2020 at 1:14 pm #186079That’s my question too Runcorn. Football is still a contact sport (apparently) players have to get close to each other to foul, close to the referee to shout at him, close to the physio to receive the magic sponge etc etc.
Then there is all the back room staff, officials, medical staff, who won’t be busy elsewhere, needed for a match. How can they all stay safe?

Unless Edwards, there is a rule that allows the players, staff & officials to wear full PPE during g a game. Perhaps it was the EPL who stole the PPE from hospitals???????
26 April 2020 at 2:07 pm #186081Rumour has that Puma are going to produce a kit with ppe incorporating full headwear and gloves. It’ll be a full onesie style suit, fit tested and a special vent to prevent the eye protection steaming up.
I’m all in favour and will definitely buy a replica kit, so long as it doesn’t have any green on it!

But knowing latics, the replica kit will come out way too late.
