Good to see that there are still some folk with principles in the “modern game”.
Also…why on earth do Terry’s parents need to shoplift and peddle coke? Once a chav…
7 February 2010 at 3:00 am #21877So its ok to be banned for shennanigans with a drugs test (football related) but not to have an affair (totally unrelated with football), o aye, great decision Capello (though the suits probably made it for him).
Trouble is now, the press have found Capello’s weak spot, they’ll exploit this to the full and if Ferdinand so much as breaks wind in the wrong place, they’ll be calling for his head as captain as well. Capello should have said what Terry has done is wrong, but he’s broken the rules of life not the laws of the land or any FA rules.
Two fingers should have been raised firmly to the press by Mr Capello for me

Bravo Mr Abram…………….we are now seeing that the truth be out. I agree that the ‘press’ are determined to destroy any possible chance there be of any success in the future. They truely are the 30th century 5th columnists.
Hey……………………that’s the bl00dy masons for you.

7 February 2010 at 3:30 am #21881Are you telling me that Terry’s off field antics and the continued media hounding would have no effect on the rest of the team or their performance?
Capello’s action on this – like the rest of his strong discipline – has sent a clear message about how teammates need to behave, whilst also acknowleding that Terry is still a key player that England can ill afford to lose.
Leave him in as captain and he’s condoning Terry’s behaviour. Leave him out of the team and he’s weakening the squad. Good middle ground to quickly maintain stability (in the camp and in the press) given that there’s only 4 months to the World Cup.7 February 2010 at 3:58 am #21883Are you telling me that Terry’s off field antics and the continued media hounding would have no effect on the rest of the team or their performance?

Like you said it’s not only 4 months to the world cup……it’s better than that. The Great British “Goldfish Memory” will see to that……..fortunately we have the feckin’ of one-eyed Brown to distract the nation and then look forward to some good ol’ summer luvin’ to take us there. This green and pleasant land who will keep their head when all those are losing theirs will overcome – when it comes to football there have been too many quotes (most famously……”life or death – it’s more important than that”) – that’s how we will feel come the day.
