So I made a comment tonight at half time against Doncaster and about us blowing hot and cold and how 2 Half’s are never the same and what do we do at Doncaster ???.

First half was brilliant for me, we got the ball wide plenty forward motion we basically had Doncaster in our pocket with a very competent first half performance and a well worked goal to take us into half time 1 up and cruising.

(Half time I then made the comment)

2nd half, what the holy fcuk of God’s did Maloney say in those changing rooms ????
We basically decided to give up on any attacking style of football and possession and invite Doncaster up to the table for a free dinner and we then try to ride out the game and hope for a 1-0 win when we should have been pushing on for a 2nd or a 3rd.

It was like an ice cream cone size spliff had been passed round by Maloney at half time and his team talk consisted of 4 solitary words:-

“Chill ya bean man!”

Because that 2nd half we were absolutely dogsh!t. I like Humphrys I think that, on his day he’s unstoppable in this League but “,On his day” performances from him are a very rare occurrence of late. To me Humphrys knows he’s off in the summer that’s nailed on because he plays like he couldn’t care less that’s how I see it.

He tries to play Roy of the Rovers style football bombing forward taking on all but more often than not he gets it took of him plus at times he looks so laid back and lethargic it looked like he’d
have much preferred to see the game out from the bench or watch it on ifollow at home rather than been out there busting a gut.

Wyke scores and then Wyke decides to do a Rashford/Richarlison impression with a face like he’d just been robbed then dry bummed. There’s something not right in the camp. I didn’t see many going over to him and the few that did couldn’t crack an egg never mind a smile. I see no bonding even between 1 or 2 players I bet their all sat on their own on coach home looking out the window to avoid eye contact.

Well whatever tactic Maloney offered up at the break to the players was a head wobbler for me because Doncaster had the majority of possession in the second half, they must have been rubbing their hands at us especially with our handbrake firmly pulled up to the top after having Doncaster on the back foot for a large portion of the first half.

I’d go as far as saying it was as bad of a chalk n cheese game I’ve seen this season from us (and I’ve seen a fair few) far worse than the Port Vale away.

Fcuk sake Maloney do me a favour just use this speech at half time the next time we play good in a first half, just use theee simple words:-

“Same again lads”
Or don’t speak go for a dump or something because whatever he said or tactic he offered up at half time lost us that game.

Consistency is the key word here, consistency from game to game but consistency from one half to another will do right now.

His sit back “Let’s hang on to what we got” is a car crash disaster tactic waiting to happen and it needs to stop asap. It’s happening nearly every week conceding half the pitch, inviting teams over the half way line and hope to counter attack, it doesn’t suit right now that’s for sure.

This “Let them have the ball” is no longer working. It did for a flash period at the beginning of the season. But now letting teams have the ball, waltz up to and over the half way line under no pressure is not working and you have to have a highly drilled and confident side to play that way and if your not? you will concede which is exactly what we are doing.

Like I said, I think the problem is, 14 players our out of contract in the summer and I think the vast majority will be gone.
One last thing, young Robinson, fair do’s to the lad. He’s been treated like a rubbing rag. He’s more than likely been asked to play this game (Chambers cup tied) before been then sent back up Scotland for good, never to play for us again.

So much for fcukin home grown talent hey especially when Chambers fucks off back Liverpool come the summer

Just wish some of our fans would stop singing “Do the Shaun Maloney” at matches it makes it look as though he’s doing a great job, the guy’s already deluded!

Arguably the most important game so far this season, win we’re looking comfortable, lose we’re in the mire.

3 homes on the bounce I think we need 6 points min…up the Tics. Danson won’t have got where he’s got to without exercising his firing finger a few times which shouldn’t be lost on SM.

On a personal note, can’t wait to be back on Saturday…missed the last 3 home games due to covid

No doubt Reading will be thinking the same. I just hope our players are up for it and if by luck or chance we do happen to take the lead I just pray we don’t sit back like at Doncaster and think the jobs done.

I just have this feeling that there’s alot of our player right now at the club who don’t give a flyers because they know their not going to be here next season.

I personally feel we’ll have a huge drop in our monthly wage budget and some high earners who are out of contract come the summer will get derogatory new offers to fit in with our new wage capping.

Basically its a way to ever so gently nudge you out the door rather than a big push and retain you for a fractiom of what you were getting

I wouldnt be at all surprised if we end up in Lg2. Maybe it’s actually our level now, I don’t know.

If we lose Lang and one or two more this window, we are in shit Street Arizona.
