I thought last night was the perfect time to catch a team burdened with a few injuries and who’d only won 2 from their last 8 but oh was I so wrong.
Whatmough injury didn’t help which was a bad start but that first half of my God, I thought it cannot get any worse but it did.

We fell to an all time low of not been able to pass the ball more than 3 times. Players are been asked to basics things you learn at amateur level and they struggled to grasp it.
Darikwa is not a right winger, period. Asking him to go over the half way line is like asking soldiers to go over the top he sh1ts himself and is basically clueless.
McClean’s legs clearly gone Pearce must have a knock or he’d at least been on the bench but if fit he has to start to help McClean out. On his own McClean is a liability.
But for me,
MIDFIELD is the issue. Most games are won or lost is this department. We have this constant hole the size of a moon crater in the middle were opposition players merrily waltz through unchallenged no pressure till they hit our box.
Fletcher actually looked ok
2ND HALF when Magennis came on but his first half performance was laughable. He actually missed the ball with 3 headers even though he jumped above the player he just simply missed the ball.
He offered nothing, can’t hold it up to bring players in, can’t head it, can’t run, closed nothing down, nothing.
You call Fernandes for throwing the towel in ?, This guys fuckin lost his towel.

I put this down to a few things,
Some players brought in are sh1t simply not good enough,
Players out on loan who’d better here than what we’ve got were left out on loan,

Long injury list, some long term the likes of Kerr Kelly, then there’s cotton candy floss Wyke and Cousins who will never be fit, never.

We can’t keep blaming managers as it’s down to the players who aren’t good enough but there was some basic footballing errors I saw last night that I pray Maloney saw as well, simple passing to each other, when you close down don’t stand off 3yard, smother them, shooting when there’s half a chance then follow up.
Finally, if you fill a team full of players who prob know their going at the end of the season and the rest all loans who’s agents are already talking with other clubs (namely Nyambe and Preston in the summer if we go down) then weres their inventive??.Weres the urge the fight to avoid the drop???. There not aarsed because their going anyway. What I saw last night was a hole new depth against a poor side similar to Preston.
My biggest fear is, if we have little or no investment then L2 is a budgies dick away.

18 players contracts are up summer 2023 of those 10 will be nr 30 years plus old. Some of those who’s contacts are not up will want out.
