From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!23 May 2012 at 11:38 pm #87862Not one of those names fills me with the slightest interest.
Why on earth would we sign players who aren’t considered good enough by a side who have struggled into the league we have been in now for 8 seasons?
24 May 2012 at 4:20 am #87879Aren’t considered good enough under Allardyce you mean? Faubert is an accomplished right sides player with a wicked cross I’d take a punt with him giving Boyce abit of competition.
Oh and your judgement of players based upon appearances for other clubs is abit uneducated don’t you think? Watch him play first of all it may help instead of judging him on a release! I’ll have you know he was one of the top earners which may have played a part.
24 May 2012 at 4:52 am #87883Have seen him.
Still not impressed.
24 May 2012 at 4:42 pm #87899I’m with retiredfan on this one.
Faubert can add some much needed competition to that right side, especially after it seems that Stam is getting shoe-horned out of the club.
As much as i love Boycey and all he has done for us, i think it will be next season where we see a slight decline in his performances.
Faubert (although another sulky Frenchmon) was not so long ago deemed good enough to play for Real Madrid and comes on a free. Fits the bill well i feel.
And i agree with your comment on his crossing ability. I seem to remember him whipping in an absolute peach at Upton Park not that long ago against us, from which i think Guillermo Franco dipped his bread. I could be wrong on that though?

Your anticipating a slight decline in boyceys performance, whatever is that based on, plying as well as ever for me if not his best footy whilst he’s been here, and a slight decline would still equate to miles better than some others
25 May 2012 at 12:12 am #87921… and while we’re at it

That’s not going to make him top of our shopping list
25 May 2012 at 12:42 am #87926they have all played for the cheats thats reason enough to not sign them or i can just hear Dame brooking, your mission if you choose to accept it is……….infiltrate wigan athletic, play has shit has you can when in 1st team and get that pesky club relegated :woohoo:

Isn’t Olly Lee the comedian who entertains the corporate before the game.
25 May 2012 at 4:21 pm #87991Yeah i do agree that Boycey has been one of the unsung hero’s in the latter part of the season and we did miss him badly over the xmas period when he wasn’t available.
However, if you read my post back, i did make reference to the fact that it looks like Stam is on the way out, leaving well, no-one, as viable competition for Boyce.
Granted, i am guessing that Boyce’ performance levels will drop. I hope they dont. But he’s not exactly getting any younger and will be expected to play week in – week out. Thats not counting any possible injuries or suspensions he may pick up.
Again referring to my last post, and more specifically the second paragraph, Faubert would add good competition and more importanly stength in depth, to our right side.
