Is being written on here tonight.

We had a bad day. We’ll have good days (last Saturday was pretty good).

The doom merchants are out in force. Thank God you weren’t around during the war.

Chill folks. We’re not down yet. There are still games to play. And if we go down so what? You all keep saying that – so prove it.

Was you around during the war? Fair play to you. Those hermans were a shower of George C Hunts.

I think this years team is better than lats years. If we go down it ‘ll be a shame but life’ll go on. Not over. Things will happen.

We lost, with a bad performance and lose two players to injury. Everybody else won, and we have a very hard run in. I think a bit of negativity is to be expected.

          It wasn’t a bad performance.

If Wigan maintain this level, they will get the points they need.

Beat Spurs next week; Utd thrash Villa on Monday night and then Villa play Sunderland on Saturday; it could be a different view this time next week.

          Let’s keep the Faith.

It is a steep hill we have to climb but we have climbed them before . I tho as most will feel very frustrated at gaining no points from 2 games we should have won with the performances put in by the team .We seem to play like brazil till we get to there box and turn into barnet. A point from either of the last 2 games would have been nice. Keep the faith boys.

no they will not.its ok having all the ball, sideways n back,if you can’t score goals.no mix up of play,a few long balls etc.west ham 2 long balls one goal n nearly another that carrol should have scored.

Wigan dominated the second half and did make chances. They didn’t get a point because they let in a soft cross – from a winger costing £10.75 million – and because in Jussi Jääskeläinen West Ham had the Man of the Match.

The long ball game relies on getting a good bounce in the area and snapping up a chance. It worked for West Ham yesterday. Wigan are using their modest resources in the best way that they can. They won’t do any better by changing to a long ball game.

Aston Villa have a tough run-in and Wigan can still finish ahead of them. Things may look quite different after next weekend.

not saying play the long ball all the time, just mix it up a bit more and don’t be to predictable.slow allowing the opposition to get back behind the ball.only Maloney seems able to do the unpredictable n take men on etc.

I agree that Wigan should be less predictable and play long passes too. And in the first half against Newcastle they played an exciting mixture of clever close passing mixed with accurate long passes. Unfortunately, they haven’t been able to reach this level of play again.

But QPR and West Ham both lined up in front of goal, relying on sharp breaks for their attacks. It’s very difficult to break this defence down, and long balls into a crowded penalty area don’t offer much chance of success.

Wigan could have defended the breaks better. Although Allardyce’s plans may be elementary, he has built a team of very good – and expensive – players to carry out them out; Nolan £4 million, Jarvis £10 million and Carroll £35 million.

Wigan did create scoring chances against QPR, Manchester City and West Ham. They just had trouble converting them into goals. They have come across goal keepers in very good form, but things would be easier if they bought someone like van Persie.
