If Liverpool have reportedly paid £20 million to Villa for Downing how is Charlie only worth £10 million? As a French International he has consistently scored more in a struggling team and is also younger. I just don’t get how he can be worth half!
I suppose the fact that he’s moving into the last year of his contract and has shown no willingness to sign a new one – not that we’ve probably shown any willingness to offer him a new one – will bring his price down.
That said Ashley Young was moving into the last year of his contract too and Villa managed to flog him for about £18m. Fair play to them.

We will get 7 or 8 mil with 3 or 4 in addons that we will probably never see.
Theres probably an easy answer to this
but anyway
why do we not offer him a new 3 year contract with increased wages, then when (if) were looking safe in january sell him with two n half years left on his contract for loads more money, and his extra value would more than offset his increased wages,
i know there are a few ifs and butts what the eck.
having said that i’m not a massive fan, and think victor
will be a worthy replacement, defenders wont know which way he’s going to go, and he can probs provide for bosselli. who i’ve not yet give up on.but then what do I know
